You are, after all, supposed to be able to read our twisted little minds...  

Seriously - if you are doing a role play and you aren't any good at acting - it might not work out as well as it could.  As it happens - you (and many other ladies in the sisterhood) are pretty good at it - but I could see how somebody might not be.

"oh Baby, baby, give it to me harder"  (or whatever)  requires some acting to be convincing.  I don't require that you actually feel it - but I do require that I feel like you do - even if I give you a script to follow rather than doing an 'improv'.  In other words - acting is part of your profession.  Think of it as a performance for an audience of one.  When I go to the theatre, I don't expect the actress to actually die in Romeo and Juliet - but I want her to make me think that she is - even though I already know the script by heart.

There is a reason that actresses in the 18th century were commonly accused of being courtesans - and some were.  The skill sets on the higher end are very similar.....

So - to my mind - the review was criticizing her acting ability - which (IMHO) is a legitimate thing to criticize.  That being said, possibly the downgrade was a bit much given the grade inflation - but still - I think this was a legitimate criticism
