Tea Party Gyrocopter
Suppose a Tea Party activist got into his gyrocopter and flew into protected airspace to deliver a petition for repeal of Obamacare to Congress, nearly getting shot down in the process.
The Media would characterize him as fanatical, insane, and dangerous. It would serve as an example of just how radicalized and inflamed the Republican base is. He would, as far as the Media would be concerned, instantly become the Tea Party's leader. People would be screaming that he should have been shot down and that he was a security threat to the President. Late night comedians would have a field day. Seth Meyers and his writers would have to parcel out their Tea Party gyrocopter jokes over the next 6 months. Jon Stewart would do nightly jokes about Republicans in gyrocopters. The gyrocopter would be lumped into the category of creepy, uncool vehicles along with the van and the moped, and it would be forever linked to the Tea Party.
