Personally, I'd avoid living in Thailand at all costs. It's a country full of brainwashed delusional religious pukes. I haven't been there but they no doubt have cultures and events that revolve around said stupid religion, where if you want to do something on a certain day at a certain place, said dumb religion might interfere with your plans even though you don't give one bit of a shit about their rituals and beliefs.  

I wouldn't mind living in China and Japan though, since there are less idiots worshiping some invisible man up in the sky. Chinese and Japanese people aren't as dumb and susceptible to bullshit as the rest of the world looks like.

While I believe that ALL religions are equally silly, I mean are "magic underpants" really any more ridiculous than talking snakes? Not all religions are equally oppressive. Thailand is a perfect example of this, not only are they rather permissive and open minded about debauchery, even their last couple of coups have been bloodless.

I would have to say that of the worlds "major" religions, Islam is the most oppressive, followed closely by all forms of Christianity, with the Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, Shintos, et al all to be considered as "also rans"

For the record, although I have not stepped into a Christian church for decades, I have been to Thai Temple many times, I have taken a lot of the Thai hookers that I met to temple, oftentimes right after a session, and I will confess to loving the food they prepare with none of the proselytizing that goes on at Christian churches. Nobody has EVER tried to convert me at "temple" whereas that's all they do at "church"

I like the track. OK, now since you've turned this into a horse race, this is how I see it.

I know you broke it down by majors, but you probably need to break it down a bit.

Sunnis - Secretariat - head of the class
Shiites - Spectacular Bid - not all Persians are bad, just ask Mari. FYI...there was a horse called Persian War, go figure.
Born Again Christians - Seabiscuit - I commuted to Dallas for 5 years. I don't know what I hated more, Born Again or the Cowboys.
Baptists, Mormons, Jehovha Witness - Affirmed or Man O'War - again nauseating, but won't cut your head off.
Catholics and Main Stream Protestants - Citation - I'll give the Catholics a bit of a pass just because of athletics. You know they are good when 2 local Catholic high schools had to move a Friday night football game, because of Yom Kippur. Yep a significant number of students were Jewish.  
Buddhists, Hindus, Shintos - if also rans, gotta send them to the glue factory. I left off Jews because sending them to the glue factory just didn't sound right.  

Oh yeah, I've been to Thailand multiple times on business. Absolutely the most docile, helpful, nicest people you would ever meet. Don't mind the little Buddha statues in the restaurants. Now if there were Jesus statues, I'm not going in.

except maybe you don't give the Baptists, especially the Southern Baptists enough credit for zealousness. Those people are fucking whacked.

I have to agree with you on Catholics, but for different reasons, mainly to do with their ability to co exist with legalized whore mongering in most every country dominated by the Catholic Church, although they lose points for covering up the forcible rape of young boys by priests. They lose (or gain I suppose) a LOT of points there.
