I have no idea how far or long a trip it is, I am just repeating what I was told.  That the trip to England via the chunnel was really a fun trip.  Again no idea about the logistics of the trip but they did it just to do it.  bigdell

Can I stowaway in you bag on the plane! Lmao

Just kidding! I don't have any info for you but I want to wish you a wonderful trip. Go have fun!

Musée d'Orsay; Notre Dame, Hermes, Lock Bridge on Seine River, Jeu de Paume, Tuileries Gardens, Louvre, Dinner at any café in Latin Quarter.

I lived there for a while.  Call me I'll fill in what I can.  It's been a while, but great memories.  Lucky you Babe.  Need someone to carry your luggage?  I can be your translator.  Out, Oui!

Paris - magical.

Architecture, art, food, shopping, churches all of the above?

A Guide book is good - and Rick Steve is good - but plenty on the interweb for free - pick a tour that matches what you want and how long you will be there and where you are staying.

Pay attention to closing days - not just for the obvious I.e. Don't turn up to a place that is closed - but typically  the day that museums are closed is also the day that the Eiffel Tower and other attractions are busiest (like a 2 hour wait busy!!)

If it's your first time, I would map a route for the following :
Louvre - see the Mona Lisa and michaelangelos David and live the davinci code vibe
Eiffel Tower (gotta do it)
Champs Élysées to the Arch de Triomphe (lots of window shopping and people watching)
Get on a river boat - bateaux mouche
Notre Dame - see the hunchback (and not the football)
Latin quarter - old old Paris, very cool

If you have time, make the trip to Versailles - a full day but amazing.

But most of all - Ride the subway, drink coffee outside and watch the world go by, eat cheese, pastries, chocolates, steak frites, drink (lots) of wine, walk the city of lights by night and see why they call it that, drink cognac, get your portrait painted, dance, buy some expensive lingerie, wear it, then rip it off and make love, and most of all just be French as only they can and enjoy the joie de vivre

I went there with my ex and we loved the show. Beautifully done. Then I gained 10 pounds because of the pastries.

Have fun

The louvre is amazing, I like the park and river front around it.
Walk from there to the champ elys, the ultimate fashion district on way to arch de triumph
Norte dame, there is one of the last French castles operational near.by.
Versailles is absolutely beautiful.
Luxembourg park is free area to see kids play, sit and drink coffee and just see the city.

Have fun it's a great city

The Place de la Concorde is not too far from the Louvre and is the other end of the Champs Elyse from the Arche de Triomphe.  The obelisk imported (stolen) from Egypt is there.  The Champs is a great stroll and a great place to watch 8 lanes of Paris drivers go insane, as is the circle around the Arche.  At Notre Dame allow lots of time to peruse the art (and artists) scattered along the bridge and riverbank.  Also explore the Left Bank around the cathedral.

Montmartre is where young artists will give you a charcoal drawing

There are many vineyards just outside of Paris.  That must be why the Parisians like to whine.

Enjoy and bring us back a bottle

Make sure you stop by the Ritz.

Rumor has it that the French think shaving is something that you sprinkle on your salad. Those are not tarantulas under their arms.

Have a nice trip and see the Eiffel Tower while you are there.

headed there this fall. On the bucket list.

Btw, hi Panthera...how was your trip?

;)

They'll be too much in awe of the  new "American Slut"  in town

go knock em dead, and make em bathe. lmao

it covers virtually all of the many Museums in Paris, Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Rodin Museum, etc.  Costs 69 Euros for 6 days and the best part is it gets you past all the lines waiting to buy tickets, saves enormous amounts of waiting time.  Also look into a 5-day Metro pass, unlimited use of the extensive subway system which is the only sane way to get around Paris.

The museums are phenomenal and mass transit cannot be beat to get around in Europe. Much better than MARTA.. lol

Enjoy yourself

Both cabarets are INCREDIBLE!   Moulin Rouge features large-scale theatrical productions, very iconic, very lush, colorful, and absolutely gorgeous!    To my knowledge, this is a completely live performance, no lip-syncing, with a large cast, male and female.   And miniature ponies!

Crazy Horse is a smaller, more intimate cabaret.   It is very, very overtly sexual.    The dancing is tighter, more difficult, very balletic, and extremely sexy.   This has a smaller cast, all women.

Both shows are absolutely worth the money, although the champagne was mediocre at both venues.

Other things worth checking out:

Shakespeare and Company - this is possibly the best bookstore I have ever visited, and is very close to Notre Dame.   A great way to spend a couple of hours when it is raining, and you want to put your feet up for a couple of hours :)

Librairie TASCHEN - How do I describe this bookstore?  If you were ever looking for just the right, high-brow, erotic coffee table book, this is your place :)   It's a couple blocks from Saint-Germain.   It's always mobbed with people when I've visited.

Sacre Coeur - wear some very good walking shoes, and climb to the top.   Go about an hour before sunset, and you will the lights come on all over Paris.

The Eiffel Tower... duh.   Absolute must-see, and absolutely not cliche'.   It is beyond words.
Saint-Germain had some fantastic vintage clothing shops when I visited in late 2011.   There are also a lot of lovely little shops tucked away

George V has a lot of lovely little shops, just off the Champs-Elysees

Note to self, proof-read before hitting 'reply'!

I meant to say there are a lot of lovely little shops tucked away on many of the side-streets leading off the Champs-Elysees...   especially on George V.

just sit there and watch the beautiful people in the beautiful city go by

Been to Paris 7 times and altogether have spent a little over two weeks there.  Also have travelled to over 300 places (outside the United States), in 60 countries, on 6 continents.   Paris is the greatest city in the world, bar none.  It is impossible to see all of Paris on one trip.  Like Atlanta, Paris is most beautiful in the Spring, especially on Saturdays when people are lounging in the parks and flying kites.

Don't miss the following:  The Eiffel Tower, The Louvre,  Versailles,  (Don't miss the Hall of Mirrors , the Gardens and Marie Antoinette's fairy tale real life Hummel like village on the grounds of Versailles) The Champs D"Elise, Museo de Orsy  (better art than the Louvre- Renoir, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Cezanne, but obviously the art in the Louvre is more famous i.e Mona Lisa, Venus d'Milo, etc.) Notre Dame, The South Bank, The Arc de Triumph, The Tulleries, Montmartre, The Sacre Coeur  (ride the Finnicular up there) ,  Jim Morrison's Grave, Napoleon's Tomb. The sewers,  The Eiffel Tower at night (They light it up with sparkling effects), A Dinner Cruise down the Seine, The Place where Princess Diana died, The Moulin Rouge show at night, The Paris Opera House, and The Pompidou  Center.

Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) is a real pain (especially Terminal Group Two)  but public transportation is fantastic. Stay near the Paris Opera in the center of the city, near a subway station.  From there you can go everywhere.  Don't drive, there are no places to park anywhere.  For example, if you're going to the Eiffel Tower, where would you park? From CDG, you can take a train with your luggage directly to Gare Du Nord (North Station) which is a few blocks from the Louvre and near all the hotels.  Bon Voyage and Au Revoir.

So many things to do!! Thank goodness I will be there for close to 2 weeks :)
WooooHoooo!!! Paris here I come :)
Again thanks so much everyone :) Y'all are the best!
Hugs and kisses
