East or west is mostly a matter of preference. Times Square is shit, and most of the huge chain hotels are shit. Mid-sized hotels are generally your best bet. Narrow down your choices, then call and ask if they require a key for the elevator.

BTW, your question has been asked and answered many, many times. A search on this message board will yield a wealth of information.

There is such a vast selection of amazing hotels that I am feeling a bit overwhelmed.  First,  what area of the city is easily  accessible for the gents.  Second,  which hotels should I avoid.  Key access for elevators is a big peeve of mine.  Please remember this will be in the winter. I could care less about a balcony in the winter lol.  I just want a friendly 4-5 star hotel that my sexy new yorkers can get to without a lot of hassle.  PM is fine here or you can email me directly at  Ilovesex.escortfiles.com   Thanks for your time   xo Erin

Women I have met in NYC have stayed at the Grand Hyatt next to Grand Central, easy access in and out.  Also the Sheraton in Times Square, very descrete elevators are near the front.  The London and the Affinia chains all were great.  Enjoy our city, it's great in December with all the holiday cheer.
