Any sense of what a POT SB might be earning as a server/hostess in a shift at a restaurant?
Trying to replace some of their shifts with time with me (which is priceless, of course....not) so would like to know how far, say, $300 goes. Is it two shifts or three? Likely thereabouts, no?
These girls are not working at the 21 Club in Manhattan. Likely a college bar/bistro. There are probably IRS guidelines for reporting of earnings. No clue by me, though.

A hostess is a low pay, hourly wage type job. Working every night of the week a hostess is unlikely to even clear the $300 "allowance" you give her.
A server OTOH has the potential to make tips and a cute girl, working in a busy place with a decent clientele could easily make a couple of hundred bucks a shift. Of course a server in a coffee shop serving mainly other broke college kids will probably only make a quarter of that amount.
Wait staff averaged $11.07 per hour nationally in 2015. I'm not sure how tips are treated. Hosts/hostesses averaged $9.87.
If a waitress/bartender has a good middle of the road job, $100-$200 per shift should cover it.

more of them than actually required and I don't imagine they make a lot of money. What I noticed is that they never pocket a tip which leads me to believe the tips are pooled then split at the end of the shift. This method of splitting tips, IMO, would impact service. One tall slender server has no idea how much money she could make an hour but, with some luck, I may "learn" her.
