There is a definite learning curve. It may seem like a no brainer to show up in something sexy, or behave a certain way, but most of that actually comes from experience. There have been a few times where I've worked with someone new, and especially with agencies, it always seems like they've jumped in prior to learning to swim. Which, to be honest, is going to happen a little bit no matter how much research you do or if you have someone helping you along. It does sound like an awkward appointment but it does also sound like someone taking her friend's "oh it's so easy, you just show up and get the money and of course you don't do anything you don't want to do!". True but not, if you know what I mean.  

There is a lady who I can't for the life of me remember right now who doesn't have reviews, but is still very well respected and known. That takes a while though. There are also other sites out there for areas where TER is virtually unused, so don't be afraid to google and double check! So, personally from what I've seen and if I were a guy, I would worry more about inexperience with reviews than just not being on TER, if you ever get the courage to go to parts unknown again

Next time, make sure she has a teaser rate for hh before you lock yourself in for 2 hours, and you can always ask for the option to extend.

Sorry that happened.  While the advice about not seeing reviewed providers is reasonable, it would be even better if you provided a review of your experience.

By the way, was the provider, and each of the others recommended, someone whose site is on wordpress.com?

If you believe a review is warranted (and it is), then write it.

My current ATF had 0 reviews and was pretty much brand spanking new to the hobby, and I spent literally a week deciding on if I should see her. Now out of all the providers I've visited, she's still my favorite.
