Mistakes are understandable, but my examples were cops...

...who acted deliberately.  The first POS didn't know the law and was pissed off that the driver contradicted him so he railroaded him for DUI.  He was so arrogant that he didn't give a shit that he could have ruined a man's life with a false DUI conviction.

The second POS deliberately turned off the dash cam so the other POS cops could beat the shit out of a suspect without their criminal activity being documented by the dash cam.

"Mistakes?"  Really?

...A stupid cop who didn't know the law got mad at a driver for correctly asserting his right to refuse a field sobriety test.  The idiot cop abused his authority by arresting the man for DUI simply for not obeying his unlawful request.  The lying sack of shit cop also said the driver's speech was slurred.  The driver's cell phone recording disproved this:

In California, you can legally refuse to take field sobriety tests with no consequences.  You can also refuse to take a blood, breath or urine test but if you do, your license will automatically be suspended for one year.  In this case, the man was tested after being arrested and he had no alcohol in his blood whatsoever.  The dumbass cop was a typical immature bully who hates people who disagree with his assertion of authority, even when they are right and he is wrong.

The driver sued and was awarded $70,000.  The judge heard the recording and determined the cop was a lying POS.  But what would have happened is there was no recording?  It would have been the cop's word against the driver and the driver would have wound up convicted of a bullshit DUI.

Thanks to video & audio, more cops will be exposed for the liars and crooks they really are.

...they're breaking the law, so you can't rely on their recordings.  Try to get those lying criminal cops on your own recording device.

I have ZERO problems with the police being held to at least the same standards as the rest of us. If dashboard cameras are going to be used as evidence against "perps" there is no reason that they should not be used against crooked or abusive cops either. After it's the TRUTH that we are looking for, right?

"Backup cameras" are already standard on most cars, maybe our own "dash cameras" will be the next thing that will soon be standard equipment?
