Giving work phone numbers

I have had a few agencies and escorts start asking for a home & work number from me. I understand the need to check  for a sting operation, but I hate giving out my work #. I always hear about  agencies that turn in their books when they get raided. Is it just a risk of the hobby that I am going to have to get use to? Fellas-Ladies let me know what you think?

I have no idea why my number is listed in their phonebook officer. Its a big world, and my number is listed EVERYWHERE.

The mere fact that someone has your phone number means nothing. I have lots of business phone numbers, and business cards, that I've picked up at conventions, shows, etc.

Now, if you have a SO, they might not be so easily convinced about a personal number, though. :)

My best advice to you is to give them neither your work OR home number.  Use your cell to correspond.

You are right.  When they get raided, the authorities will have all your pertinet information otherwise!

I might have to disagree here...lol...a cell # doesn't give us (providers) much security...anyone can get a cell #....a work # though let's us know who you are and that you are legit...most providers won't keep the # but will remember that you are a good "client"... all in all it's up to you but sometimes we require it as a part of the screeing process ;-)

I've had to give up on a provider because she wouldn't accept that my workplace has no receptionist. She called and got me directly. How else can we put the providers at ease about who we are? I understand their need for security and in the end had to respect that. I gave her my cell number to help verify, but it wasn't enough. The couple of references I had for local girls she didn't know, so... Oh well.

I have had providers call the wrong work/cell number before.
I would never give my home number. I don't want the S.O. to EVER have a question about who called.

What some might not understand is a few of us simply can not do that. This is Washington DC for God"s sake.  There have been some agencies and independents I would have loved to do biz with but have to take a pass.  If my history on the boards and long list of impressive references here and in other cities are not adequate then I just have to move on.

I think you understand why I am asking STP.  Some jobs are more sensitive than others in this area. Some are working in a jobs where if the work number gets listed it becomes a snowball running down hill. I am not complaining, just looking for a more comfortable technical answer from both hobbiest and the ladies other that denying it was me. (Bosses don't buy that and secretaries are too nosey.)

when you want to keep your privacy intact. If a potential client do not want to disclose his personal/work information I usually ask for his TER (or other boards) handle and I do a search. If he is a VIP or has done reviews recently I just ask him to BC a "note" to me to proove who he is and a providers reference. That's enough for me. I see lots of high profile clients and I know discretion & privacy is very important for them...I can work around it.
