Say we live in a house that has developed a termite problem (health care system). Your solution is to burn the house down (0bamacare). Just because I don't offer an alternative solution doesn't mean your idea must be implemented (repeal).

It's funny that the people who always knew that they (we) would ultimately end up footing the bill for Obamacare, were the ones who were always in opposition to it.
Some of us didn't need to wade through thousands of pages of doubletalk to figure out that insuring EVERYBODY, no matter how sick they already were, and creating the biggest new government bureaucracy in memory to administer it was going to cost a fortune. Any one who believed otherwise must also believe in the tooth fairy as a way to pay for dental care.

just like it is in Europe and many other places in the world, not due to the price of crude, which is a world wide traded commodity like gold or coffee, but by those higher taxes that you talk about which would be passed along to consumers, just like they are in Europe.
We would have ended up with the worst of both worlds, higher gas prices for consumers, but no profits for oil companies with which to fund development.
