So it's nothing wrong with getting a war plan and understanding your enemy first.

Then you attack your enemies when they least expect it.

Also don't give them what they want in a fight.

When was the last time there was need to fight for this country since WWII? All BS forced down your gullible throat. Afghanistan, may be since St. Reagan created the Taliban.  

Let’s us be honest here, Bush went Iraq handed it in silver platter to Iraq and thane ISIS took over. Libya, NATO bombed and killed Gadaffy and handed it over to ISIS. Syria didn’t bomb but did everything else and handed it over to ISIS.

How is building democracy in the middle-east going? We have fucked up more countries in the last 20 years and created an albatross we can’t easily get out.

State Dept spokesperson Marie Harf says we need to address the root cause of why ISIS terrorizes. We may be able to help the economies of their countries by providing them some jobs.
Twitter was full of suggestions for employment: beheader for Tyson chicken, butcher, server at Brazilian steakhouse.
Kerry needs to fire this valley girl immediately.

It worked pretty well with Saddam, didn’t it? We killed Saddam his sons, and most of the top bad guys. Mission accomplished, right?

        It worked pretty well with al queda, didn’t it? We kept killing numbers 3 and 4 in the leadership and eventually got Bin Laden himself.

        It worked pretty well in Afghanistan, didn’t it? We killed a bunch of Taliban, or at least enough for us to leave the country safely.

        It worked pretty well in Yemen. We got that bad American cleric and a bunch of his henchmen.

        And all that killing  took care of the terrorism problem, until we suddenly realized that Iraq was falling apart,  that there were thousands of new bad guys bearing down on Mosul,  that Yemen was falling to some bad guys I had never heard of.   Kabul will be next.

      Ms. Harf, and the administration, quite properly recognize that an economic solution is as crucial to the underlying root cause of terrorism as is military action.  

Perhaps you should rethink this one.

nd start watching some real news where they actually report news unlink the bloviating Blitzer and the like. Take Libya for example, before NATO went in and knocked out Humpty Dumpty, people had jobs. Libya pumped around 3.5 million gallons of crude a day, people from other countries like Egypt for example went Libya for work now there is no jobs for anyone. ISIS pays the young and educated ones to do what they want them to do  and they do it because they need the money. Not all that different in Iraq or Syria.

We can sit here smug and stupid and criticize everyone who happens to bring up point we don’t like to hear. Truth is what the fuck did we gain by killing Saddam and Gadffy?

and by stupid, I don't necessarily mean the uneducated. Young people are easily manipulated into supporting causes they don't even understand. Sometimes good comes out of this, but often they are just sheep misled into doing the dirty work of people who are smarter and more experienced.

I know you will disagree, but Occupy Wall St was a great example of this. OWS was not a bunch of poor kids protesting, it was a bunch of mainly rich, or at least middle class kids protesting while living on Mommy and Daddy's credit cards. When asked "what" they were even protesting, none of them could actually articulate a cogent answer. They were simply dumb, bored kids, whipped into a frenzy by people smarter than them with an agenda. History is full of events like this.

The difference being, the young Islamist extremists are camping in tents and killing people in hopes that their spiritual paradise is real and a much better place than where they are at at present. Whereas, the young OWS's are camping in tents, while not killing anyone, because life, now, is pretty good for them. The how extreme the behavior is often based on the degree of impoverishment.

It's officially a democratic republic. However, when the rubber meets the road, I don't think there's many people, who seek freedom of religion, expression, and capitalistic endeavors, wanting to move there. The Prez does NOT have a plan other than to hope it goes away or someone else will clean it up.

The Prez can NOT even call them terroists, nor will he allow anyone in his administration to say it.

BTW, the capture of Bin Laden was through the efforts of the CIA and military for years in the making ... Obama just happened to be there at the tail end when it finally happened.

Then President Obama had the guts to make the call on killing Bin Laden.

...or care where Bin Laden was.  He didn't put much emphasis on finding Bin Laden, especially after letting him escape at Tora Bora.  That's the real reason it took years to find and kill him - Bush just didn't care.
