President Obama is in town tonight (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday). Too late if you are out tonight. Saturday afternoon he will be messing up Times Square, as he is going to a Broadway Matinee. You have been warned. While Presidents have stayed at The Waldorf as far back as anyone can remember, The Pres. is Staying near the UN. Expect closures in the area.
I've never seen him, but once was staying at a nice hotel in San Fran. When I checked in, they told me that Obama would be there for a speech the next morning and all guests had to check out by 8am. NICE!
So then next morning, I down to check out bright and early, and was met in the lobby with several mean looking officers holding huge assault rifles and guys in suits standing around with earpieces. Not a pleasant departure. And about 4 blocks around the hotel was blocked off so it was a huge pain to get out of there and catch a taxi.
That explains the higher hotel rates yesterday and the traffic
