Great Question. Ask a medical professional though

Thread below got me to wondering.  I've had a number of blood workups done recently, for a variety of reasons.  Is an HIV test standard, or does it have to be requested?

Example if about to have any type surgery I suspect it is mandatory

the normal blood workup is includes such things as a complete blood count.  But the HIV tests are done by special tests.  The first type is usually a screening.  If you test negative, you don't have it.  If you test positive, you may or may not have it.  You would then have to go for the second test.  But you should not go crazy about wild thoughts from hobbying. While street hookers have HIV with really high probabilty, the incidence of HIV in normal escorts in line with that of the general population and maybe even lower.
