I am hardly a fan of Obama, but I don't see anything to get upset about here. This is not a proposal to "give" arms to anybody. This is a way to "sell" more arms to NATO countries and make them more responsible for their own defense.

As much as I would like to jump on your bandwagon and bash Obama for this, there simply is nothing to bash him for. Actually, he might even earn some slight kudos for trying to be creative in getting our NATO allies to pay their fair share.

Our Military Industrial Complex has the nerve to push this BS and our elected pricks in Congress have nothing to say about this. I give up! Our schools, roads, bridges and other basic infrastructure are falling apart, public health hospitals are closing and these assholes want us to buy U.S. military Equipment for our NATO allies.

WASHINGTON, Feb 4 (Reuters) - The U.S. government on Wednesday announced a two-year project aimed at making it easier for NATO and member countries to share costs and buy weapons as a group as they struggle to stretch scarce defense budgets.

Under the initiative, the U.S. Departments of Defense and State will consider on a case-by-case basis requests to buy U.S. equipment from a "lead nation" or international organization on behalf of others.

Under the approach, the U.S. government would structure agreements with a NATO-linked entity or country to permit transfers to an identified group of member countries.

One country or organization would be the sole buyer with full financial responsibility, but participating countries would also have to agree to the terms about the use and security of the equipment involved.

.......the U.S. Government does not tell us,  is that this aid is actually a credit for both countries to buy whatever military arms they need. They both get their wish list of free military arms and U.S. tax payers get stuck with the bill. I don't see this military deal with NATO being any different.
