Sen. Mitch McConnell says he remembers the blizzard of 1824 and it was much worse. There was no transit system then but, had it existed, it would have been shut down then too. However, he did admit that his mule refused to take him to school that day but he attributes that to the mule's stubbornness rather than the inclement weather.
