if only his legacy would viewed on al the freebies he has given or offered, he'd be a shoo-in for 'best ever'. But cannot ignore the 'rela pay' of middle class....gone down by $4000 or so....the number of people who have dropped out of the workforce (highest in history), IRS playing politics (and getting caught), immigration scandal, etc, etc, etc.  He easily bests Carter as 'worst ever'.

Obama's new proposal wouldn't be necessary if the American economy was strong. Employers wouldn't be able to lose a single worker, if the economy was not in shambles. Instead  America get's another mandated proposal behest the Office of President.

This rule would not be necessary if there were not so many unemployed Americans. Employers wouldn't be able to find replacement workers, if the economy was strong.

How in the world could you possibly make the case that federal employees WONT abuse 6 more weeks of paid vacation? :D :D

Could you imagine this in the private sector? OMG!

It appears from the article that they want to force this policy onto private employers, but somehow do it at taxpayer expense. IOW the worst of both worlds.

Has anyone else noticed that Europe is in MUCH worse shape than us, so why do we want to follow them like lemmings off a cliff?

The unemployment rate has come down because people have stopped looking for work and the jobs that have been produced are low paying service industry jobs, wages are a huge problem that will continue with no end in sight and the people wanting full time work but are stuck in part time jobs problem is huge.

So what anti-Obama, right wing, nut job is saying this?

None other than ultra conservative  Robert Reich. Lol

Ugh...

all in the same week? LOL.

And none of the reasons given by Mr. Reich for his projection – outsourcing, the demise of unions, technology- have anything to do with Obama economic policy. And while Mr. Reich is a little off on the facts – wages have risen 6% over the last 3 years which translates into 12% over 6 years - he does make a good point, that the gradual wage increase is good for other aspects of the economy.

Beep, beep, beep -While you are rethinking this one, Jack, be sure you keep the backing horn on - you might run over some one. LO

I forgot you were the sold possessor of them. LOL

Well at least you didn't tell us you had a buddy that went to school with Reich and that he knew he was a closet Republican. LOL

Yeah we have a wage disaster Mari. When people lose jobs and replace them with jobs paying 50-75% of their previous job they consider it a disaster.

But what does 75% of the public know anyway? LOL

I am sure there "facts" are wrong too. :D

Not to be an eternal pessimist, but the economy has and will be bad for a long time.  But, that's just my perspective.  I'm in my 50's and have been unemployed for over a year.  Before that, I was underemployed!

And foreign investors have to decide on if they invest in our bonds.

Since our exports are now very few-crop and as long as everyone can afford to buy, we're going to be okay.

The commodity market, primarily the price of crude, is the wild card. Will we all let the price fall with only Russia and a few others getting short end, or will it start closing our derricks?

If nothing outlandish happens, the market will slide until the dollar weakens again and all will be well. Hope it doesn't last too long.

Actually, Obama turned the recession around fairly well, though not as fast as needed to help a lot of folk. The Republicans are the ones trying to tank the economy because it will make "this Administration" look bad. Their constituents can be led to blame the President if it goes bad (because he's got ALL the power, right?) and they can take the credit if the economy is good, because had their been a functional Congress free enterprise would never have flourished. As long as Americans hate the system too much to understand it, gerrymandering is good enough for who it's for

economy in shambles. If it is really the case, then there is no economy.

All indications are that the unemployment is down, GDP is growing, stock market has more than doubled (except for the recent oil price related adjustment), consumer confidence is up, consumer spending is up, inflation is down primarily due to drop in oil prices and deficit has dropped considerably.

With ll this up ward trend, economy is in shambles just because Obama is the POTUS.

Your logic of a strong economy, business meeting all the workers 100% of the time is slavery. Why don’t you add cutting wages in half to your equation for economic strength. Your intelligence is only superseded by your eternal and infinite ignorance
