Maybe they don't want you see them until you're in...

I agree with others saying it's mostly because providers don't want to attract attention of neighbors. But isn't the reason also because it would be more difficult for the clients to leave after they are in and door is closed behind them.

If a provider shows herself when she opens the door and a client thinks she is not as attractive as he thought she would be, he might decide to leave right then without going in. Once he's in, she hugs and kisses him, small head takes over and he has a tendency to overlook small imperfections about her.

Many reviews mention the provider opening the door and staying behind it, invisible, waiting. Is there any (legal, symbolic) significance to it?

Thanks!

I always thought it was because they didn't want other nosy people seeing them in their lingerie - or less.

It's because they don't want to be seen. Period. The whole idea is for this part of the appointment to be as discrete as possible. Even if the lady is fully clothed it doesn't look good for her to be seen letting a guy into her room. Don't linger in the hallway when she opens the door. By the same token, if it is an out call, don't leave her waiting in the hallway either.

I thought it was just good salesmanship to build up a little intrigue.  I think it works too.

to avoid any undue attention... similar to the reason a good provider will not wear something totally slinky and alluring to an outcall session, she just wants to blend in with the crowd.

Several gentlemen per day being greeted at the door by an attractive woman in sexy attire = ?

Samantha Stevens always had Mrs. Cravitz spying on her, and nosey neighbors will always be a concern for providers.
Whether it is a hotel room, apartment, condo, or single family house; a provider needs to keep the foot traffic and observable activities as stealth and innocuous as possible.

Yeah. I don't want my neighbors seeing me opening my door wearing a slinky little something. It would kind of, you know, let them know that my day job is rather, unusual.

Discretion ain't just for the boys.

Thanks for all the replies! amrdck, I think you are on to something here :)

Which brings an obvious follow-up: what, in everyone's experience, is the average percentage of time when the photos lie and "she is not nearly as attractive as he thought she would be"?

They are always prettier than I thought they would be.

The only time I was ever disappointed was with a bait and switch, otherwise, my providers have always been prettier than the pics.

and it was because the ratings were way inflated. In that case I was already in and went ahead with the session anyway since I didn't want to hurt the lady's feelings.

If you stick with well reviewed ladies, there should be no bad surprises.

What kind of women are you seeing if you think providers are so shallow and calculating?? If this is the kind of woman you keep meeting, maybe you should ask yourself what YOU are doing wrong.

I only see very well reviewed ladies with average ratings 8+ for both appearance and performance.
