No. Life happens to people. I've been there myself. But 4 times is enough and downright obvious at this point. I am a forgiving person. With an excuse that seems normal every time, one would understand when they have a family. Apparently it was all a scam. I guess all one can do is read the blacklists and grow from there which is why I posted this. I posted this in hopes more would post blacklists on situations such as these. And no, not 1st time offenders but multiple NCNS like this. I certainly would not be sitting here like a fool.

Read the black list websites ladies and take them to heart. I hope nobody else goes through this like I did standing here with lingerie/ candles/ bubble bath and all waiting for NOBODY once again. Took hours to get ready. I am all for 2-3 chances for emergencies but a 4th time is enough. Haven't heard back once again from the same NC/NS on the 4th TIME!!!...but can't wait until the story comes sent in an email to me at some point to reschedule for his scam! I am finished with the disrespect.

They are completely avoidable.
It begins with your marketing. Market yourself for respectable clients. Have an age minimum. Require advance notice. Rock solid references. How does he talk about providers in his reviews? Communicate with the guy before accepting the date. Talk to him on the phone. Ask him questions. Is he an executive or does he sell stuff on eBay for a living? Does he live in a decent city or a slum area? Confirm your date before you start getting ready or rent a hotel. Does he reply in a reasonable time by email or phone? Confirm, confirm, confirm. Let him know that he's accountable to communicate should he not be able to make it
I am all about screening and more... but please do not categorize people by age or what they do.
I had the pleasure of meeting great people who are executives and above (whatever that means 
) as well as people who work as carpenters, construction workers, firemen, etc. and yes, even two eBay sellers. All great people and all gentlemen.
People's age and what they do for a living do not depict if they are gentlemen and real people who care...
There are bunch of disrespectful people from every walk of life and big a$$ executives are not an exception. Please!

But screening/marketing to clients is like making a decision based on credit. You want to pick the clients who are the LOWEST RISK to be fucked up. If a guy is 50, with a family, has a stable occupation, positive personality, and is cooperative during screening, I'm picking him over the younger Ebay seller every time.
A reasonable story each time goes further for me...I get it that life happens. Totally have been there more than I should've. Today I couldn't reach a certain man via internet and I even gave the details to enter my room number because my phone sucks. And yes my phone is sucky with reception at times! Did he head on up? NO! He threw a bitch fit downstairs for himself instead and headed on home.
It was a middle aged guy with a day in advance notice THIS TIME (after his numerous last minute requests) and references were involved. He's very normal in every mannerism about him but never shows up. I am not the call on the phone to chat type of gal. He's an asshole and it has been confirmed by my blacklist 4 times in a row of NCNS!! I feel siding with his life crap can only happen once or 2 times. 3 or 4 forget it.

I've been an independent provider for as long as you have, and I agree with Superstar!. I've also never had a NCNS, or even a last-minute cancellation.
Usually, there are indicators of flakiness...a last-minute request isn't necessarily one of them, but if I get a general vibe...I don't know, sometimes you can just tell when a guy isn't serious. If I get that vibe, I usually don't make the appointment, as they usually have issues (disrespect, asking questions clearly addressed on my site, like 'What are your rates?', just being generally annoying) that go beyond flakiness.
Here's what I do with all appointments: as we set the date, I'll tell him verbally that I'll be confirming, and I'll also say when I'll be doing it... day of, or the night before, or whatever. Then, at the appointed time, I send an email to confirm. If I don't hear from him by x time, I'll say, 'Hi, haven't heard from you...just want to confirm that we're still on. If I don't hear from you by 5PM, I'll assume you've made other plans. Have a nice day." Then if I don't hear by 4 or 4:30, I'll fire off one more, just to double-check. That way, if he does email me 15 minutes after the appointment is supposed to start, asking where I am (that has never happened), at least my a** is covered.
Short or one-line emails, not reading the site, changing times, suddenly asking questions like 'What is your rate?' that are addressed on your site or elsewhere...and definitely cancelling 2-3 other times...is a clear indicator of a flaky guy. I wouldn't have booked him, personally.
