She'll be pissed...

Maybe, if you hadn't already revealed that you normally fly BC, she might have only been  disappointed, but now it's going to seem to her that she's "just not worth it" to you, and man, you're going to learn something about a woman's scorn.  Plus, there's nothing like being squashed into a tiny seat for 8 hours to give one a sunny disposition.

This is a classic example of sharing TMI.

If I were you, I'd either scrub the mission or upgrade to BC.

Ok when I travel overseas I go business class. And I've been exchanging pictures of my flight with my SB. I did mention how I feel guilty going biz class. She said doing it for long trips is ok.
Now we are planning a trip that's eight hours by flight. Is it ok for both of us to fly economy or will she be pissed?
It fun hanging out with her so don't want to upset her. Any suggestions on how to break it to her that the trip will be in Economy

At least----insist that she take the aisle seat !!!!   Show her you are the high roller she thinks you to be !

You let the genie out of the bottle. Genie no want to go back in.

Maybe you'll get lucky and get upgraded.

The eight hours back will likely be worse.

Well, you could tell her BC was sold out when you went to book. Then ASK her if she still wants to go.

Please update, tho.

You are going overseas with her and giving her an experience that most people will never have in their lives. You are giving a life changing experience so as long as you are also in coach with her, she should be very happy.

It is not easy to be on for an extended period of time, especially when cooped up in an economy seat.

SB's are rarely complete "pros" and they don't feel obligated to be "on" during the entire time they are with you.

A lot of the younger SB's who have never been anywhere are so excited just to be on a plane going somewhere exotic and/or exciting the thought of griping about being in coach might simply never enter their minds.

I had a civie once bitch about flying coach on a flight of just 4 hours, and to keep peace I upgraded to FC on the return flight.  Fortunately, this was back in the day when an upgrade just prior to the departure could be had for a very reasonable bump up.

So, if a civie felt empowered to bitch about coach, I figured a SB would be as prone to this.

She was a Jewish-American Princess, so perhaps that was the problem, however.

If you had never mentioned Business Class she might not have been expecting it. But you can't show her a bottle of Dom and then serve her a glass of Andre.

Eight hours stuck in coach is a long, uncomfortable trip. BTW why did you say you "feel guilty" about flying BC?

I feel guilty as I don't like to splurge that kind of cash for a flight where I'll be sleeping most of the time. I'd rather spend it on Pusey

You missed the context of the guilty statement. The pussy in that case does travel with me but is picked up at the destination

I took a trip to Argentina a few years ago. Now normally I hate to fly coach on a flight that long, but there was such a difference in rates, about a grand for coach, vs over eight thousand for BC that I just couldn't bring myself to spend eight times as much just to sleep a bit more comfortably.

Now if the price is double, or even triple, I will usually cough up the extra bucks, but we all have our limits.

Have you considered telling her just how much the difference in airfares is and ask her if she'd be willing to "suffer in coach" in return for having more spending money on the trip itself? One thing I have found is that the younger the girl, the less likely she is to view "flying coach" as a hardship.

I think Gaga touched on this as well, but you just framed how to handle this:

"Baby, it's a pretty quick flight for overseas, so I booked us in Coach instead of BC so I can spend more on you.  You don't mind drinking in Coach with me, do you?"

I went to Argentina and Chile for a month in 2013 and "interviewed" about 5 SB's to see which I would take with me. One of them asked me to book her in Coach (and leave me in BC) and give her the difference in cash (about $5k)! She was 32-ish, non-US-born Asian, and had a kid, so her focus was different than most younger SB's, but still...

Ended up taking another SB, a 26 yr old Asian casino dealer instead.

Borrow some money from your rich uncle and upgrade the seats.

but I always fly Southwest and there's only one class anyway.  It seems foolish to waste money on the upgrade, unless your company is paying the expenses.  I'd tell the girl I'd rather spend the extra money on her for gifts and dinners and traveling rather than waste it on airfare.

I will take the advice of telling her that flying coach will leave money on the table for other fun activities
