2016 = GOP WH, House and Senate

Hmmm, what one man believes is right; circumventing ALL current political options is the right thing to do??  
       I would have much rather be use an EO to force the opposing branch (senate or house) to vote on bills passed by the other body within a time frame. It seems to me that would have way more support than acting on immigration alone. That sort of action might just have fixed many problems in congress rather than standing alone on immigration. What he did will end up in court both on a state and federal level costing US millions. It also will hurt his approval rating; even if it's the right thing to do. Will it matter in 2016? It might very well. I be seen some polls that show if the 2012 election were held today Romney would win.  
         You know as well as I do that a large part of the Democratic Party, if 100% honest, would say a complete firearms ban is their goal. GB and Aus wouldn't be brought up as much as they are if it weren't their ultimate goal. F*** Biden even said all you need for protection is a single shot shotgun.  
         The fact is i have the right to vote solely on one issue; right or wrong and probably will. There are some democrats that support  firearms rights and I d consider voting for them but by and large that's not the case.  
         To allow the president to unilaterally bypass congress, whether it's happened before or not, on something the scope of immigration, that affects SO many people is fundamentally wrong and very dangerous even if it's the RIGHT thing to do.  
        The president has even stated that he didn't have the power to do it alone; shouldn't have the power to do it alone. It ll be interesting to see legally how that plays out. It could very well be tied up in court until the end of his term, in which case there was NO point in expending the political capital to do it. It might even backfire, members of his own party didn't want him to do it, and make it impossible to pass reform through congress. So while you say "it's the right thing to do" I will stick with my assessment that it was wrong on many different levels.
