How About a Significant Reward for Catching Providers Who Are Fabricating a Lot of Reviews?

The integrity of the review database is of tremendous importance to TER and the members. In addition to the efforts of TER, the veracity of the reviews is somewhat community-policed. A bad review here and there is often caught by a sharp-eyed member and flagged with a Problem Report or a Board posting, which I think is good. However, there seem to be a few providers (or their handlers) who game the system and succeed in putting up a slew of bogus, glowing reviews in the girl’s profile, thereby causing the provider to be significantly misrepresented on TER.

My suggestion is that TER should offer some incentive to members who expose these gross offenders, more than the two day VIP credit for Problem Reports. A significant incentive, like a month or two (or three) VIP credit for a successful challenge that results in delisting, would probably increase the detective work members are willing to do, and result in increased integrity in the review database.

As examples, I exposed Claudia Powers, who was subsequently delisted. See this thread: http://theeroticreview.com/msgBoard/viewmsg.asp?MessageID=57421&boardID=1&page=. I also recently challenged Helena/Victoria. See this thread: http://theeroticreview.com/msgBoard/viewmsg.asp?MessageID=95557&boardID=1&page=. Since she was temporarily delisted a few days ago, and hasn’t been reinstated, I assume TER agreed with my challenge.

To be honest, my motivation was that I was tired of reading their bogus reviews, and I’m glad they’re gone. But it is a fair bit of work, and other members might be motivated to do the work if there was more incentive.

Interesting... I am not sure if I am comfortable with putting a "bounty" on these providers. TER is a community.  It is the responsibility of each user to report fraud.

What say you?

until a member busted them. I'm speaking of Claudia Powers and Helena/Victoria (assuming you agreed with my observations) here, but there must be others.

I've carried out my responsibility and will continue to do so, reward or no reward. They piss me off and I just want to see them disappeared.

But I still think the community-policing would probably be more aggressive if there was a reward, which would improve the integrity of the TER review database, which is important to all of us.

It takes a fair amount of time to research and present one of these cases. I'm sure TER doesn't have the time. I suspect most members wouldn't have (or make) the time, unless there was a reward.

I think a bounty is a good idea, but I have concerns about those I viewed to have had good reviews --- confirmed by personal experience --- who were delisted.  I have detailed my concerns on another message posted on the General Discussion Board.  I don't know the answer, and am not sure what I think should be done.  But there are legit providers in D.C., for example, whom I personally know to have been delisted that I think were treated a little unfairly.
