Obama and Sen. Baccus pushed for Bipartisan support from Republican Senators, Grassley, Olympia Snowe and Mike Enzi but the Tea party nut-bags were having none of it and Republican Senators were forced to back off. Tea party groups were threatening a tea party challenge during their primary elections. As with everything else, everything Obama has tried to get through with bipartisan support has been met with a NYET by Republicans. Remember turtle head McConnell who said his number one goal was to make Obama a one term President. He screwed up royally on that one.
