The title of the article said Reagan's Benghazi... That has no relevance to present day - 2014.

I've been comparing Reagan to Obama for quite a while.
However I don't see the immediate relevance in relation to the midterm election. Neither Obama or Reagan are up for reelection? This(now) is always going to be like that(then) as long as this(then) was like that(now)
