it doesn't cost a lot. But we don't have the stomach for it. I'd make every effort to personally target the leadership of ISIS and their families.

That reminds me. I need to watch the movie 'Usual Suspects" again. The mythical character Keyser Soze come to mind. He'd kill your kids, wife, parents, friends, and then burn down your house.

They say they will behead another American tomorrow. They have at least 4 more Americans in line after that. On being a woman.

So now what? How many beheadings of innocent Americans will we take before we decide to do something other than bombing?

It doesn't appear to me that the destruction of ISIS can be achieved through the air only. They have declared war on U.S. and its citizens.

Lets assume, and I hope I am wrong, that these 5 people are murdered by these fkin thugs.

Whats our response then? More bombing only? Thoughts?

That nothing would go forward until next month, after the election. Then there still may be no immediate response from the WH after the election.

Sometimes you just need the will to do what the other guy won't.

If Obama had the will to do what needed to be done, we never would have left Iraq in the first place, creating the vacuum of power that enabled these fucks to wreak the havoc that they are now doing.

To think that we are going to do anything meaningful about this under Obama is simply wishful thinking. What we predicted six years ago is coming to pass, Russia and the rest of the world are bitch slapping Obama, and daring him to do something about it, knowing full well that he doesn't have the stomach for it. The only thing surprising is that it took this long.

The consensus the other day was ISIS was no larger of a threat than EVD.

Not only that, but Russia was going to fight ISIS on the behalf of the U.S.

I could see the logic behind U.S. involvement provided there are obtainable resources for American interests. Which we be what? Shale production resources are being sold to Russia and China. While U.S. petrol is sourced from Africa and South America.

Which begs the question: What does Russia gain from fighting fighting ISIS on behalf of the west?

Wasn't Russia already benefiting from the black market purchase of oil from the Kurds?

What could America gain from fighting ISIS?

... if the defense sector could profit from from a war with ISIS, I could see the logic there.

However the pentagon wants to cut military spending. There is no conflict of interest between the pentagon and the defense sector. They do as they will... so what is the goal?

What hysteria there was with Ebola it seems to be fizzling. The populace needs be kept in relentless fear if they are to be easily controlled.

I think we will need ground troops. It's not an option I relish or look forward to, but I just don't see any other way Matt. Do you?

...........By supplying Syrian Kurds and Iraqi Peshmerga Kurds with ammunition, I believe the United States has found their ground troops to take the fight to ISIS.

who are in the clutches of these evil doers. But sending US troops there to fight a new ground would result in hundreds, if not thousands, killed and would ruin the lives of thousands more who will lose arms and legs.

How about a travel ban of Americans to the Middle East? What the hell are these idiots doing over there in the first place? How difficult is it to see that Americans are high value targets?  Remember your argument about trading for our captured soldier in Afghan?

Once we defeat ISIS, then what? Now we have to leave thousands of troops not only in Iraq but also Syria?

And if we send in troops, what incentive do Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Kuwait, and Lebanon have to fight these guys?   They are happy to let the US do it.

Unless and until we see a clear and present danger to the US, STAY OUT OF IT
