I consider myself to be a little left of center. I tend to vote for fiscal conservatives on the local level, but because of social conservative agenda's, I vote more liberal on the state and national level. Most of my childhood was spent being raised in a small town in the Midwest. The land owners, farmers and businessmen tended to be Republican, while the factory workers, who commuted to the small cities, tended to be Democrats. My friends came from all the categories, and my Dad was a small business owner, so I listened to all sides and their rationales, which basically boiled down to, the Republican politicians promised to protect the 1st group, and the Democrats the 2nd. Then, working in industry as both a union and non-union employee a learned the pros and cons of unions, and management. Actually, my views are probably too complex for a discussion board where everyone is categorized as being left our right. My view is creative power coming from equally powerful forces confronting each other, yet incorporating a little from the other, much in the case of ying and yang. If one force is overcome by the other, the creativity needed to produce something new and sustainable soon vanishes. So, in my view, I see a need for two equally strong parties, and that unions and management need to be equally strong.

Republican candidate Hice from my area, Baptist preacher and radio talk show host is more looney than Paul Broun that is retiring.  Paul Broun did get my vote once until he came out and said that evolution was lies start from the pit of hell, and believes the world is 10,000 years old.

Now we have looney tune Republican Hice, worse than Broun, that believes gays have a secret plot to recruit and sodomize children.  He says abortion rights supporters are worse than Hitler.  And he believes women that wish to run for office should only do so under the authority of their husband.  What a fucking tool we have here!

No fucking wonder Georgia may be turned back blue state.  Only the progressives make any fucking sense.  The Republican party is batshit crazy in my state, even to Stephen Colbert.  Now come on Conservatives, is this the best you got for me to vote for?

and what do you mean "even to Stephen Colbert"??? He lives for this stuff, if there were no BSC Republicans like this retard, he would have to invent one.

The GOP really does need to find a way to muzzle the kookiest of their ranks. No reasonable person wants to admit ever being associated with the likes of these "fire and brimstone" Republicans who want to drag us back into the 19th century.

Its because the word "liberal" is associated with nut job tree huggers/wacko environmentalists, radical animal rights activists, the "no nukes" hystericals, anti-second Amendment nuts, the "YOU have to pay for MY birth control" crowd, the bogus "equal pay for equal work" nonsense, the $15/hr minimum for UNSKILLED labor, the absurd and hurtful union rules, and so on and so forth.

Both sides have their nut jobs. Lets all be honest about it.

the Republicans have wacko religiosity fruit cakes and the Democrats wished to make their party bigger too and took in all the sorry ass people that would fraud our system to help the needy.  It's time for a Libertarian, a fresh new party of moderates with common sense, that aren't blooming idiots and business friendly

But what surprises me the most, is that they have a following that actually believe the shit that spills out. That is what drives me crazy!!!!FUCK!!!!!!!!!!

but as Jack so accurately pointed out, the GOP hardly has a monopoly on BSC.

all those baptist terrorists scare the shit out of me. wonder how many are headed to Syria to fight for ISIS?

If I had to be locked in a room with a FAR-right group of extremists or far-left group extremists, I think I would have less of a threat to my personal safety being with the far-left group extremists

Murders, rapes, assaulting cops, molotov cocktails, setting businesses on fire, destroying cars, robbery, etc etc etc just your typical laundry list of "peaceful" protests by the Far left.

I'll tell you what. You go hang out with the "Occupy" crowd and I'll chill with the Tea Party types and lets compare notes when done.

Well...that is assuming you survive your hospital stay. lol

.......would beg to differ. I include a chart of Terrorist incidents in the U.S. since 1995 by perpetrator ideology

JackDunphy639 reads

Check out 2001 and tell me how accurate you think the chart is. I'll give you a hint. September 11 that year didn't put Islamic terror in first place. Lol.

I also wonder why people who don't adhere to the word of Jesus support hate crime laws?

Hate crime laws are fundamentally aligned with Christ.

The SPLC is a partisan hack left wing organization. At least try to find material from an organization that isn't biased itself.

You speak the truth when you call the SPLC a "partisan hack left wing organization" I recall Fatboy citing them all the time when spouting his racebaiting bullshit.

I attended a "Drinking Liberally" get-together once. They meet once a week at the same restaurant in my area. Though I wouldn't categorize them as far-left extremists. but pretty far left, I had the suspicions that some of the members may qualify as extremists. Between family members, colleagues and friends, I felt I understood the far right frame of mind, though not extremism, so I wanted to get a taste of the far left. I don't think I've ever experience more of an undercurrent of generalized hostility, except when my friends and I, in our Navy uniforms, walked into a longshoremen's bar in Boston, and the overt closed mindedness as I did in that meeting. I could see that many of the other newcomers were having a reaction to it. also. Their eyes just kind of glazed over, or they stopped making eye contact and stared at the floor. Never went back!

Or do you just look that way when compared to the likes of Honda and Hadji?

I have been in the company of both "far left" and "far right" nut jobs, partly because of the places I have lived. I grew up in the SF Bay Area in the 60s 70s and then lived most of my adult life in the deep south, so I have seen both sides at their worst, and truth be told, I am torn as to which side is worse at their worst.

I have been in bar where a black person was literally taking his life in his hands simply by entering the bar, I was only allowed entry with my slanted eyes because of my military service and my ability to "speak redneck", and I have also been around the militant far left groups in the late sixties, thanks partly to my mother being a member of SDS. I honestly don't know which group/s were the scariest. All I can say for sure is that neither group has any kind of "high ground" they can both be very scary people when in groups, and that definitely includes those "good church going folks" that claim to be peaceful followers of the teachings of Jesus Christ.

onslaught of crack smoking freeloaders moving to Atlanta from shit holes like Detroit.

we have a generational gap where issues like gay marriage don't bother younger conservatives, and we are turned off by the religious wacko's that are determined to create their apocalypse.

I got my eyes on Jason Carter and Michelle Nunn, whose fathers were moderates.

The paper trail is what it is .

All she has is Zell who was a decent guy until he wasted all that money sending cotton pickers to college for one semester. they were dumb asses who couldn't meet the minimum GPA to keep hope so got the boot by the 1000s.

Buying votes with a short stay at UGA . I guess its better than chicken meals and pints of Vodka like Arkansas .

That generation gap must be in your small circle

for reminding me what I escaped from Corporate America.  Thank you baby Jesus in manger too

I know you don't have much regard for truth, but just to clarify the issue' you're wrong. And, that's a very serious charge to level against someone, in such a spurious manner. You would have had a ball during the McCarthy era.
