Not really.  They both setup "appointments"  and take a cut of what's made.  Where is the difference? They both go out and recruit in one way or another. The only non pimp scheduler would be the person a provider hired herself not one that puts up ads looking for girls.

PM or post your experiences here. NO, I'm not recruiting.

If there is a hell to go to, I hope the hottest part of it is reserved for garbage like you.

I've often wondered why TER has a section for 'Ripoffs' or 'Providers with something to hide' but no section where you can be warned of this. Wouldn't it be a progressive step to have a section where we can be alerted if pimps or trafficking is strongly suspected?

Wouldn't a manager or even a scheduler fit the definition of pimp?  They all get a cut of the earnings.

They typically control their providers through threats and/or providing drugs and take most of the money she makes.  A genuine manager or scheduler wouldn't be controlling the provider like that.

Nope, a scheduler just schedules. A pimp operates with threats and coercion, and usually takes the majority of the earnings if not all them. A world of difference.

I know someone who worked for a recently retired scheduler and he took a cut and told her what to do.  So in my eyes that is a pimp.

Mention in the review msybe?

...it does say on the terms and conditions... but who has ever really read that? Apart from me, just now...

I agree to report suspected exploitation of minors and/or human trafficking, including anything which constitutes, assists with or references child pornography or human trafficking, to the appropriate authorities (http://traffickingresourcecenter.org/report-trafficking).
Anyone involved in the sex industry at any level really does have an obligation to not only stand up for the rights of sex workers (in my 'real' offline life, I'm openly vocal about that) but to also be proactive where there's wrongdoing. There's an awful lot of complaining about 'rip offs' and customers not being treated fairly, as we can't exactly report the provider to the BBB, and it's a good thing that a light is shone on these issues. But those problems are dwarfed by the problems that honest providers can face, and they have no recourse or remedy. As we all know, this absence of legitimate protection is what gives abusers/pimps their opportunities.

Sorry to bang on about it. But SW rights advocacy discussions are really conspicuous by their absence on this board, I often think.

And it has come up here before, eg related to attacks on and abuse of providers.

It would be good to have more discussion of actual SW right advocacy, and less about accusations of schedulers being traffickers without evidence.  There's a world of difference between what schedulers do and what pimps/traffickers do.

... coercion.  Taking more $ than agreed.  Threats.  Abuse.  Physical violence.

Does that help?

There is a world of difference between a relationship the provider enters into voluntarily and one she is coerced into.

1)  I think the hobbyists who are most likely to know this sort of thing is going on are the ones who don't care and are certainly not going to report it.
2)  I think most of the rest of us probably steer clear of seeing the providers most likely to be trafficked/pimped and aren't that likely to see or recognize any signs of it happening when it is happening.
3)  Even if one of us suspects this is happening with a provider we see, what amount of information would be required to get LE to do something?  I don't know but I suspect it requires more than an anonymous tip that a certain provider might be being trafficked or pimped.  And if the provider is actually not in that situation but all of a sudden has LE or someone else trying to intervene then she's going to be unhappy about it.  Without some hard evidence, I don't know if reporting it would accomplish anything useful.  Of course, if someone does have hard evidence then I hope they would report it.
