US anti-prostutition laws don't apply.
In cases where murders & other crimes are committed...  illegal in both countries...  TER could be forced to comply with specific records requests.  But it would be cumbersome & take time to get court orders in the US & get foreign courts to agree to honor them.
So far such cases, available US phone records & computer records were used (noteably the Craigs List murder) to quickly apprehend the culpret.
Several US based escort sites have been taken down.  Escorts dot com is another one.

So:

1. Prostitution is illegal.
2. Running an agency is illegal.
3. Being a booker is illegal.
4. P411 is illegal? Is it? At this point I'm not sure....
5. There's a legal case in New Mexico involving the Southwest Companions web page, where the state supreme court determined that running a web site much like TER is NOT illegal, because it does not fall under the antiquated "running a bawdy house" NM statute.
6. TER is illegal in the US? If so, under what statute?

Just curious about how much indirection and degrees of separation from the act of prostitution an entity has to be before it isn't "illegal"...

websites like TER.  Take the case of the "Crimson-colored Book" site late of San Francisco a few years ago.  It was taken down with a crash. I suppose the principle is that if anything seems to be encouraging an illegal activity, then it is ipso-facto illegal itself, though many examples aboud of less clear examples of same.

Not sure the Supreme Court has ever ruled on such a case.  At least TER is located off shore in an enlightened land where P4P is allowed, so the courts can touch us......yet.

The anti-'s have been fighting to get BP to stop hosting escort ads for years, with no real success.  The most they have able to do is to shame Visa/MC/etc to stop processing payments for them.

Like BP, P411 itself is probably safe, because they just host content.  Individual ads or profiles might cross the line, but holding the site itself responsible for the content of what users post is very difficult.

TER, well, let's just be thankful it's still here, ok?

Freedom of speech and the line crossed only if you get caught with $$$ exchanged... again I'm guessing 🤔

Me 3, not a lawyer😃

Not a good guess my friend!  I can promise you that

If the Feds want any site down they can. Legal I don't know" they can argue that after shutting you ass down. Lol  check the record in history.  I could say more but it's late. I Feds and tones of reporter have been through all adult sites looking for dirt on every politician they can and they consider it a major pulse that we are doing Buisness . 🏛
