The article was about the problems of legalized prostitution. I know the title of the article didn't have nothing to do with the article, so I can see why the person reading the article would wonder what exactly the author was trying to convey.

I don't know how anyone will be able to answer  a vague obligatory question such as "should buying sex be illegal?"

...and as you may have read on this board the left holds Europe to a higher standard than the United States of America

He started debating the definition of the word "should" You need to say something much more stupid than you did to keep your lead in the SPOTY's

But I will grant, your response was pretty fucking stupid, just that JCA's topped your's by a mile.

If prostitution – buying or selling – is entirely decriminalized in the US, as Coyote and many sex workers advocate, it will be regulated so heavily that you will not like it. Have the Nevada legal brothels been booming success stories?

Say goodbye to BBJ-everything will be covered.   Say goodbye to anonymity – sex workers will be licensed and so will clients (otherwise the law would fail under an Equal Protection challenge).  Say goodbye to child custody. How many judges are going to give custody to a prostitute or a user of prostitutes?  Say goodbye to “retirement” and getting a real job. For 25 bucks I can get virtually every public record on anyone sitting down at my computer. How many former porn stars that have disclosed their past can you name that have meaningful jobs now?

It get’s worse. Decriminalize and both sides have the full protection of the law. You didn't pay her? Lawsuit. Her services were poor quality? Lawsuit. Knowingly passing genital herpes or other STD is a tort and in some cases a crime. You say you did not give the lady that disease? No problem, we will just take her client list and subpoena each guy until we find the culprit.  Of course this could happen now anyway but it is more likely to happen if licenses are required for each participant.

The only way to do it is to decriminalize ONLY outcall between independents and individuals. The law hates third party involvement in sex transactions and for good reason. Keep everything illegal for  the pimps and agencies. Incall is a brothel and you have to deal with all of the nuisance elements that have anchored the illegality of this form of prostitution for centuries. But outcall by a true independent can usually be accomplished without most of the traditional public nuisance elements of prostitution.

That is why outcall between true independents and their clients is the only form of sex for pay that has a chance of being decriminalized in this country. Maybe, for starters at least, our legislators would allow this limited form of decrim without laying down heavy regulation

How do you explain the fact that most of the rest of the world deals with at least some form of legalized prostitution with none of the problems you suggest?

and I am still waiting to here from you in re to Rick Perry's impending conviction and incarceration. Tick tock, he could go to prison at any time and you will have missed your opportunity for some easy money

when it "regulates".

It's a wonder he and other big daddy government types cant see it in regards to other matters.

Enjoy yer fuckin tofu, foo

Obamacare. Most Hos make less than $46,000 – or a least declare less – so they are eligible for Obamacare subsidies. And Obamacare not only covers contraception but STD screening.  So the rich and other ACA taxes are already helping these ladies out, even the illegal ones. Pre-Obamacare registered prostitutes reportedly had difficulty obtaining conventional health insurance bc the insurers felt they were at high STD risk.  But all that is washed away by the Obamacare Tsunami.

Make sure you check with the ladies the next time you post one of your “everyone hates Obamacare” polls.  Hey Jack, how does your Republican Health Care Plan handle this? LO

You and I have to subsidize the health care of $500 hr hookers. How is that a good thing?

and just who are these "Pre Obamacare registered prostitutes" you are talking about?

I just read your link, once I read "San Francisco based" that explained everything.

it's never ending story society battles about it all the time

Rather it is a country that is ruled by a minority of religious bigots who disguised themselves as running away from religious persecution somewhere else.    As long as religion is used to legislate at Federal and State levels, lot of things will be illegal including walking in to a pharmacy and buying a pill.

Just cross the northern border to Toronto and it is a different world.   My regular stop over while visiting my ancestor's country is Frankfurt.    It cannot be any more liberal than their FKK clubs.

You must be in some la la land!

Hobby Lobby!     Law of the land stipulates all companies should offer insurance coverage for birth control pills.   The religious bigots on SC, said it can be denied based on religion!

When a person is in America, or a citizen of America that individual is free to disobey the rule of law.

You are also confused if you believe America was supposed to be a liberal nation. Why compare  non-liberal nation to one that is liberal?

One other discrepancy I found in your post.

"lot of things will be illegal including walking in to a pharmacy and buying a pill."

When medication is legislated to be sold OTC the pharmacist is "free" to sell said medication.

Many pharmacists have refused to dispense some pills as it is "against their religious beliefs".  LOL

"When medication is legislated to be sold OTC the pharmacist is "free" to sell said medication. "

FDA has approved RX for medical termination of pregnancy.    Some states have or trying to ban these drugs.    Back to us being free, here is the SC ruling on terminating pregnancy:

"The Court’s 1992 decision, Planned Parenthood v. Casey. In that case, the court said states can’t place an “undue burden” on a woman’s right to end a pregnancy before the fetus would be able to live outside the womb"

What the religiously bigoted Republican states are doing is exactly opposite of this ruling.

Religion is still used in legislating in this country and that takes away the freedom from religion.
