Give them all equal sums of capital and goods. Put them in a closed system with any level of egalitarian rules desired (and enforce the rules).
Sooner or later there will be at least 3 classes of people and wealth.
If you let them pick each other and keep the numbers small enough and much higher levels of egalitarian living can be maintained.
People simply aren't "equal", nor should they be expected to be. The only place that "equality" should be addressed is that everyone should have equal opportunity, and in this country at least, we have already achieved that, or at least we have given EVERYBODY of sound mind and body a fair chance to find success in our society.
I know there are several here that will claim the deck is stacked against them, but those are simply a case of sour grapes that inevitably come from the losers of any game, including the game of life.
