I don't even think the guy that won (who was an out of stater) even got the opportunity to cash in on his winnings since he basically had a week to do it before she disappeared.

  More than likely if the girl runs the contest she will probably pick someone she is familiar with and play a little bit of favorites. Familiarity always comes before newbies - sad but true.

Let's create a hypothetical situation where a said person sells tickets. The old 1 through 10 system for ease .
Will just say the winner takes all and will use 300.00 for the winning ticket. 10- thirty dollar tickets must be one  
per person . The winner then would make appointment to pick up his SAID winnings.  

Problem areas ,
> Insuring theirs a fair drawing system.
> All participants would have a pay-pal account or something similar.  

Fun times
> Could do this anytime not just for football but for a raffle of some sorts.
> Generate some excitement back into the hobby.
> Would be great marketing tool .

All legal off course as the seller wouldn't keep a percentage of the sales.

Once upon a time a very kick ass lady(who has retired) did something like this.. not so much a pool but rather contests.. It would range from things to add to her website or ideas to make new ads etc.. all hobby related.. she would lay out her rules and deadlines for entry's and the winner would be announced her on TER..   She would pick the winner and then show the winning entry somehow.   Winner usually got free play time with her or discounted extremely!!!     I cant remember all the precise details about her contests, however I have precise memories or her :)

Fun Times when she did stuff like that.. I always entered her contest, but never won!  My opinion would have been that she was not biased one way or another for her contests!  

Would be awesome if some ladies started this back up!   I doubt you would find guys willing to put $ towards such a thing, but time and thought through a contest I would think would be popular!!

... her last ad contest right before she retired was lots of fun.  I don't think we ever got to see all the winning ads. :(

... the winners were publically announced more than a month before she retired, and they were informed privately before that. As for playing favorites, I know for a fact at least one of the winners was way down the list of favorites, in terms of patronage.  

It's really tacky IMO to disparage someone without all the facts and without their having a chance to respond.
