Priest was great.  So much attention goes to Rob Halford, but the guitar work of Glen Tipton and Richie Faulkner was superb, especially Faulkner who really stood out.  Ian Hill is an overlooked bass player who plays a solid bass line.  Scott Travis was solid on drums.  The sound was muddied for a while because the arena was half full, believe it or not, and the sound was bouncing all over the empty seats and spaces.  They seemed to get it right about half way through.  If you like Priest you will have a blast. Knowing some providers were in the house made me chuckle when they played "Breaking The Law." I didn’t care for the opening act, Steel Panther.  I couldn’t tell if they took themselves seriously or were doing a parody of the 80’s glam scene of LA.  I thought they were an odd match with Priest.

It was a first for me, but my SO loves them and saw them a lot when she lived in Japan and England, but never saw them in the US.  I was amused by the crowd and as we walked around before the show lo and behold I see not one, not two but three of my favorite providers, including my ATF.  (They’re not in my reviews.  I haven’t posted a review in years). Two were together in a group and I had recently had a double with them.   The other was with her SO and not with the other two.  What was great was everyone played it cool.  We had all made eye contact, with a bit of friendly recognition, but no words were spoken and certainly no one waved or acknowledged anyone in any way.  It was perfect.  Turns out we were all sitting around the same section.  At one point during the show I went to get some drinks and I was standing right behind my ATF on the line.  I did not say a word and I didn’t stand too close.  She only knew I was there when she turned around after paying for her drinks.  She was a bit startled but I looked away.  I thought we all did a great job of handling the situation perfectly.  There wasn’t any interaction or violation of any boundaries.

I've seen Priest twice and they are coming to Baltimore.
