Gordon Klingenschmitt wrote in an email to his supporters: “Democrats like (Jared) Polis want to bankrupt Christians who refuse to worship and endorse his sodomy. Next he’ll join ISIS in beheading Christians, but not just in Syria, right here in America.”

He subsequently apologized but Klingenschmitt, a former Navy chaplain, has previously compared Obama to a demon and says Obamacare causes cancer.  He has been rebuked and disavowed by his party but is likely to win because his opponent is a woman and if the Republicans in his district are anything like St. Croix, they won't vote for a Democratic woman because they think they're ugly.
