I'm always struck by what we're allowed to say and laugh at, based on the context. One of my favorite shows is " Last Comic Standing," where stand up comedians compete with each other. Most of the jokes are about race, men, women, fat people, sex, even people with disabilities. People laugh because they recognized some truth in the joke, and/or they've thought and felt the same thing themselves, but never felt they could say it. However, I don't give politicians and government bureaucrats the same leeway.
