and it goes with out saying the cost is always my biggest concern.

Its on 14th and 10th, its like 80 for a few hours. Clean, fun, and easy access to and from. :)

I think that's the 3 hours price.

I don't think its a huge deal and am really not paranoid about it but it's much better to ask that suggestions be made via PM.

I don't think they care yet, but our  new leaders might.

This week is tough because of the UN meeting, but other times it's much easier than you think.  Also, if you're looking to just get a room for a few hours here's a list of day rate hotels.

Waldorf-Astoria
Too classy to rent by the hour, the Park Avenue palace opens vacant rooms for day use until 6pm. The cost depends on the type of room and availability, but don't expect a price much lower than $300. However, you can rest assured that your Franklins are buying you both a luxurious bed and maximal discretion. 301 Park Ave between 49th and 50th Sts (212-355-3000, waldorfnewyork.com

I used the Waldorf a couple of years ago, got a deal on a day-use suite for about $240. We'll worth it

DayUse.com

best place to find low cost, nice hotels for the afternoon.

Try www.dayuse-hotels.com or www.between9and5.com for half day rates; you can also call some of those hotels and ask for a day rate as if you have a flight layover and just want a room to crash.  The hotels just don't care what or why as long as you don't break the furniture and pay the bill.

You can also check kayak.com, hotel tonight, etc and see if there are nicer hotels at a good rate point for you.  If you are not too loud, you can also check out LiquidSpace or Breather which rent office spaces.  Not as conducive to a screamer but if you are quiet those can work as well.

Enjoy!
