we are looking for the "enemy" at every store we shop? I mean isn't there enough polarization in the U.S. w/o that added b.s.?

Yeah, I'm like you, unless I think some group/person is evil, which is VERY rare, I base my purchases on the quality of the goods, the price and the customer service I receive.

I remember a Repub friend of mine giving me shit b/c I go see Pearl Jam every time they come to town. Yeah, its kind of a drag to listen to their political crap at the concert, but I love their music and I dont think they are bad or evil dudes just b/c we see the world vastly different.

but if it were refined enough, not to mention accurate, which by their own admission they are not quite there yet. I can see then perhaps having an impact.

I will admit that I refuse to patronize Chick fil A because of my loathing of the owner and everything he stands for. So maybe others will "vote with their wallets" as well.

The problem of course with this is that many, probably most corporations are politically neutral, and whatever differences between competitors the app might find, most likely are highly open to interpretation. I mean do you really think you are going to find a major difference between Shell and Exxon, or Kroger and Safeway?

most of the  people I talk to don't even read the labels on the food that they are purchasing, to see what kind of junk they're putting in their body, coupled with the low voter turnout. But, I could be wrong. I know I stay away from many of the big box stores, because I don't like how they do business, plus I like to use local, small businesses. I don't care if the owners are Republican or Democrat, just how I'm treated.

Like Michael Moore, Mel Gibson, Hobby Lobby, or the dick head from Chick fil A, and try to attract business by pandering to one political or religious group, I think they should expect a little push back from the other side.

I hate fast food, but when comparing Chick fil A to other fast food chains, they clearly put out a better product, but I just can't stand the idea of putting a single fucking cent into that asshole's  pocket, so I refuse to patronize his restaurant chain. Michael Moore has made a fortune manipulating stupid people into watching his politically based movies, I refuse to be one of those sheep lining his pockets.

These are some extreme examples, but they aren't the only ones. I have no intentions of trying to vote politically will my wallet on a day to day basis, but I have to admit there is precedence for this type of thing.

As long as she says yes .  :-D

Other than the dailykook crowd of ill content I don't foresee  many people boycotting their favorite food for political purpose.
Reminds me of  fools living in shallow land boycotting  their favorite band because they don't agree with the  singer's politics,  or movie goers who won't spend ten bucks if the star actor is opposite  their political affiliation.
I do believe it will be a hit with extremely miserable people.
