The DC hobby scene lost someone this past weekend when a hobbyist known as "baconracer" passed away.

Some of you who know me may be wondering why I of all people am posting this since he and I did not see eye-to-eye on many things.

"Bacon", as he became known to most, had not posted on this board in quite a few years but rather on a competing board. He was around at least 10 years that I can recall and we were not always on opposite sides of the conversation.

He and I had similar taste in the type of ladies we liked and therefore, we saw some of the same ladies. The one thing I do know is that he treated the ladies he saw with a great deal of care, respect and had a great admiration for them.

I am an honest enough person to say that while he and had our differences, anyone who treated the ladies the way he did deserves that recognition.

RIP "bacon" ... many people will miss you.
