This is based upon the assumption that the value of the labor of entry level workers is less than what they would be paid if you increased the minimum wage.

Right now, the average wage to productivity ratio of fast food workers is 1:4.

In order for your statement to be true, quad, you'd have to raise the minimum wage HIGHER than $29 an hour.

This Republican Congressman who is part of the last four years "do nothing and obstruct everything House of Representatives" complains he has not gotten a raise for years!   For doing what?    For voting against a raise in Minimum Wage!     That is what he did.  LMAO.

I would just call him  a C*CK SU***NG S*B  living on taxpayer money.

It's only fair that we call this other douchebag feeding at the government trough the same as we do Willy. Of course he doesn't spend all day posting on a fuckboard while drawing his salary paid for by you and me.

Well, at least I don't think he does, for all I know he might. I am assuming he is one of those "family values" type candidates, which means behind closed doors, he is most likely some sick, twisted fucker. lmao

(and neither of us wanna waste a second looking into it) BUT i would draw a distinction between a guy whose sole income is what he makes from congress and dirtbags like pelosi and hairy reed who have gobs of money and don't need the pay. but hey, i've got no special place in my heart for most of these guys so WTF, let's give willy a break and heap on this guy

...I actually do my job.

Did I mention that Congressmen make $174k a year? $174k a year to do nothing.

Nice work, if you can get it.

there's gotta be some slummy district you could get elected in.

then yo can make $174K not doing shit but posting on TER

throw out the cheese, the mice will come.

There job is to stop the likes of him.

And how many hours a day do spend reading Media Matters at your "job"?

but no, there is no defending any member of Congress who thinks he deserves a raise. Although, I don't put any connection to Congressional pay raises which I strongly disagree with on a moral basis, as the amount of money we are talking about is really a pittance with raising the minimum wage which I disagree with for practical reasons.

We can probably talk, and even agree why Congress does not deserve a raise, but you are not intellectually capable of having a conversation about why raising the minimum wage isn't even good for those making minimum wage. I am sorry, but on subjects like that you are simply TSTTT

are easily brushed aside in favor of shock value.

Here's what the Congressman said:

"What he's not telling you is that Congress hasn't had a cost of living increase since 2008, when I led the charge for a freeze," Terry shot back, according to KMTV.

Clearly he was commenting on a fact, NOT complaining. Indeed, he includes he lead the charge for a freeze. If that claim was bullshit we'd clearly be haering about that, right?

No, tsttt and huffypoo headline makers don't have time to sweat the details...

so they can feel like they are "sticking it" to those evil, greedy, corporations.

What they don't see is the small mom and pop stores are saddled with the same penalty as the large corporations when min wage rates are increased, for once again the geniuses in Wash, DC with their once size fits all approach, cant distinguish between the two.

Even states/towns fall into this same "we know better what an employer should pay an employee" nonsense.

There isn't a cap on wages and there shouldn't be a floor either. Let the employee and employer work it out and if it works well for boths sides, why the fk should the know nothing govt with their $18 trillion of debt get involved?

Ignorant and low IQ BSC Republicans don't want to pay living wages but rather pay low wages whic puts people on welfare and complain about it.

Is there any semblance of brain left in there?

Why don't you BSC's try living on minimum wage for a couple of weeks.

Come on Fungy, fess up. In real life you are a minimum wage burger flipper, right? Come on there is no shame in voting for your own self interest.

If a company is forced to pay a high minimum wage , business owners will choose to hire older more experienced workers.
Seattle will prove  why higher minimum wage doesn't help entry level and teen employees.

High employment numbers  for youth are  necessary to prevent anarchy.
Unemployed youth will often cause disturbances on the streets at night, while  employed youth will go home early and get their sleep,

employers could take a novice  23 year old and get more production out of him/her than two 18 year old entry level workers .
If they're in business to make money, they won't be hiring teens at $ 15.00 an hour unless older  applicants can't be found.

Teens out of school without a job often leads to problems such as throwing Molotov cocktails at police trying to keep the peace.

OF COURSE it will hurt entry level i.e. POOR workers the most! If the pool of talent is bigger for which an employer to draw from, which it CERTAINLY would be if you doubled the min wage, I would have my pick of employees and wouldn't have to settle for uneducated, non skilled, non experienced workers.

And do you notice the left ONLY cares about mom and pop stores when its an evil corporation like Walmart moving to town but never mention the draconian measure of a D.C. one sized fits all forced labor pay increase on small businesses that could never possibly afford it? Yep, I noticed it too.

Or robbed or burnt out by the aggrieved angry hordes either.

Of course, chances are these are sometime "oriental" owners so they got it coming. Everyone knows the Asians own everything.
