No preaching here, but.....

It should at least be said, that the market is what the market is. I agreen with Slim no matter what area you live and play in. Luck for me, I travel, so I get to partake in the finer things in life at a lower cost in other areas than my home town, which IS actually inflated. This is only becasue it is a tourist destinatation, with 60,000 hotel rooms or more and always at 87% occupancy. I don't complain about the fees here though, it is what it is, but do enjoy my trips out of town. My brethren on this board or others can't deny that their budget is increased when they make a trip to sin city. What they are used to at 2.5 and 3, now becomes 4, 5 and 6 as the typical and norm. Yes, there are bargains, but it is what it is.

Another intersting market difference, if you check it, is that for example in DC the majority is Incall, while in Vegas it is Outcall. Just thought I'd throw in a couple thoughts here and not preaching Big D.

Is anyone else sick of guys bitching about rates everytime a lady posts availability on this board and her rates are more than $$$? It happens almost every single time now!

Do you guys read automobile advertisements in the Sunday paper and then call the BMW dealer and bitch about the price of the car? "You should sell the 330i for less because I can get a Civic for half that price."

There are 5 million people in the Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area. Subract women and children and you still have ~1.5 million potential customers. A lady can probably fill her dance card to whatever extent she wants. I mean, who knows a girl's business better, you or her? All it takes is about .001 percent of the population.

Just because you're not willing to pony up doesn't mean others aren't. So how about "Hi and welcome to DC. Hope you have a fun time." instead of "Bitch, moan, complain, your rates are too high, whine, whine."

We went thru this drill before. We understand the rate structure and don't need you to tell us how many people are in this area.

I agree with you but don't preach to us..

It just gets tiresome to see this stuff every single time. Some of it's fairly benign, but other times the post comes across as "My God Woman!! You're insane if you think you can charge that much around here! Don't blame me if your trip's a bust!"

You are talking about the comment the guy below made on a thread.. Why didn't you post there?

It's about every post in the last six months where a provider posts her availability and her rate is above $$$. I swear, Jenna Jameson could post availability on this board for $$$$ and someone would chime in with "Jenna, $$$ is all the market will bear around here. You should consider lowering your rate if you want to have a successful trip."

Some people will voice there opinions about anything that is posted on this board. I don't see a problem with that.

If I want to see a provider, I will see her. Cost doesn't matter.. Let them bitch if they feel good. I don't care. Wondering why you care  and why you didn't voice your concern below..

You have a great point, dude!
I will give it a go?
...
'Hi, and welcome to DC/BWI, Shauna! I hope that we have a fun time tomorrow?' :)

dc!
PS
'I like your $$1/2 rate!' :)

Providers prefer that you book multiple hours. That is where you get the best deals. All you have to do is ask. Also they don't feel like they have to be rushed when you book multiple hour appointments. The reason why the one hour rates are so high is because DC has the rep of being the 1 hour appointment city.

No more bitching please. If its too high for ya or above the norm for u, then ya should just move on

Well, thats my bitchin' for today!

I really am. I have never has a person bitch about my rate.
So I pose a few questions:
Why does it happen?
What does one hope to do by "bitching about a rate?"
TER people are not CLES people so they already know, again...is there something to gain here?

There was a question posed on the Boston board about people ( in a nutshell) using a TER handle to...?
I have never had this happen but I guess others have that are providers too.
Have you?
So... enlighten me because I am not all that on anything. Learn something new. I always am.

(assuming I will be flamed..won't be the first time, LOL...).

With you only being in the business for a year or less.. there is alot that you haven't seen.. hold on to your hat and simply wait.. you will look back at yourself in 3 -4 years from now and giggle at yourself when you read old posts/old emails/old ads of yourself and think " omg.. all that i know now, and didn't know then "

Ahhh, so true. I do that now and think it. I have made so many mistakes. But we all do.
In for the ride of my life, right...
Kisses to ya!

The capital city has more agencies and providers than any US cities I have visited and the rate is about the most reasonable. No cities can support that high number of providers per capita than DC.  The huge escort market fullils the lonely needs of million of visitors to the captital, diplomats, congressmen and their staff who live away from home.  I am also one of the frequent visitors who rather use the escort services here than in my home city Philly.  What is surprising is that LE activities are almost unheard of in DC that allows escort biz to flourish.  Just last 6 months, 4 of 5 agnecies in Philly were busted and news of raids in NYC occured almost monthly.

AngieRenee, I am semi-new to this (about 8 months) and no one has bothered me about my rates, either - and they are well above 300/hour. Of course, I don't advertise on the boards... maybe that has something to do with it.

If a woman could "fill her dance card to whatever extent she wants" . . . they would all charge astronomical rates . . .  they charge their rate based on supply and demand.  I don't see too many people bitchin when the 18 year old hottie charges $350 . . . but when the civic starts charging Mercedes prices, people bitch and trips get cancelled.  So I don't see the harm in people expressing their opinion when someone does not appear to be pricing to the market.

If the rates are too high, the AMP's are lower, and there are a lot of them in DC.  An hour at a AMP usually goes for 60 + 100 tip.  Not bad, if you like that sort of thing.

It is hard to understand why anyone would suggest a provider reduce her rates - oh, I forget, I do it every time I call - they refer to that as Begging - which I am very good at but never seem to get the results I desire.

If you can't afford or refuse to see anyone over your normal budget (mine is 125 - I use my 2 for 1 coupons) then what benefit is there telling someone to reduce the the local market price? Nice try - but I'm not buyin it..
So, off to the local AMP I go...
