What are you? In your 50s, 60s, maybe creeping up to 70 years of age? So you and your crowd is the baby boomer generation. Do you remember the 60s and early 70s with your long hair, beards, and questionable hygiene? "Drop in Drop Out, remember that shit, or were you too stoned to remember? Wait a minute, then the baby boomers transitioned to polyester. That's right, polyester shirt, gabardine slacks, gold chains, and dancing to disco music. And since you're white, you danced the "white man's overbite" dance. I can go on if you want.

The millennials are better educated (assuming they don't go to LAUSD), dress a lot better, better hygiene, better athletes, and getting a lot better pussy than you could ever imagine.

Getting a bit melancholy for the old days.

Say hello to the Millennial Generation.

imagining the good Doctor dressed in a polyester leisure suit with bell bottom pants, platform shoes, spinning under a disco ball. . . unless maybe he was auditioning for a spot in Boogie Nights.

I've heard much about the weaknesses of Millennials but my anecdotal evidence through personal experiences disputes that

...besides, I'm clean shaven, bathe regularly, and I wear my hair on the inside now.

I did own a polyester shirt and 8 inch platforms back in the day. Swingers dressed really groovy back then. Fortunately, we still listened to rock n roll.

Try wearing 8 inch platform shoes when you're fucking standing up to the rhythm of Edgar Winters "Frankenstein" - talk about an elevated experience!

When capitalism functions like it was intended to, the by product are dead things. No creature on earth produces waste that isn't used by some other creature. Even stoners know that when a cow takes a shit, magic mushrooms grow out of the pile. A tree falls over in the woods, termites say yum.

But let's take a look at a landfill. Or what I like to call Capitalism's Asshole. Landfills are just a big pile of shit that nothing uses. So we just cover it up with dirt and hope nothing leaks down into the ground water.

It doesn't matter how you look at it. Capitalism uses propaganda called advertising to get people to buy shit they can't afford and don't need. Things that some capitalist used slave labor to produce, by pulling finite raw materials out of the ground that he declared was his. He sells this product for more than it's worth in order to make a profit. Consumers go into debt owning this thing. The consumer will only own this thing temporarily, where it will eventually get dumped into a land fill.

That's fucking retarded. How retarded is it? We keep doing it, despite that fact that pretending that the earth is an infinite resource, as well as an infinite trashcan is going to KILL US ALL. And by us, I don't mean just human beings. I mean, all life on earth.

So, we have two choices. We can either stay the course and wait for the inevitable, or we can change our economic system.

If you choose the former you're retarded.

My point had nothing to do with the styles fashions or entertainment interests of the younger generations.

My point was in the priorities.

A story about model Kate Upton being told she may not wear Tigers gear at a Yankee game was more important than the renewed fighting in Iraq, the Israel-Hamas war or extreme drought in California, all of which are newsworthy items of various import.

For the record, I was a folk dancer, not a disco dancer. Disco sucks.

First off, growing up what did you have for information? No cable, just 7 or 8 channels, a couple of newspapers, Time, Newsweek and a few others. There was a lot of shit going in the world, we didn't have the technology to get to it, except for the really big news stories. Today, we are inundated. The amount of information in just unrelenting. You mentioned Israel-Hamas, unfortunately they are competing against Ukraine, ISIL in Iraq, and everything in-between.

One of the big items today is income inequality. What we really have is education inequality. You address education you fix income inequality by default. But back to the point is our educated Millennials are better educated, better aware, more ethnically and racially diverse, and more progressive than the Baby Boomers, Gen X or any other demographic. Go to my alma mater UCLA, or any university for that matter,  and sit in on a class or two, and Doc you will be impressed. I know they seem and act self absorbed and a bit narcissistic, but weren't we all back in our youth.

The problem we have is the 75% that is not educated. Why would they care about Israel-Hamas, or the drought in California? The funny things is, this 75% is more connected they we ever were. They ALL have smartphones, even the poor. The information is there, they just don't understand or care. Add the fact that the prime demographic for everything is 18-48, they are being overwhelmed by media, fashion, sports, everything but what is truly important.

Seriously fix education, and you will fix your issue. But head-to-head, I'm still taking the Millennials over the Baby Boomers in everything. They do more fun stuff than I could ever dream or afford at that age. Plus they have access to some great pussy. Think about it the next time you are inside a 25 year old (lmao).  Comprende senor?

I find it discouraging, knowing all the hard work the men and women, who worked on it, put into it. And, though I think Kate Upton is totally hot, the fallout the networks heard over twitter, because they interrupted her interview, for a newsflash that the U.S. bombed Isis troops in Iraq, is to me a sign of misplaced priorities.

I was was DEFENDING your dislike of disco. I wish I was more skilled at Photoshop. I'd turn my pic of you on your trike into a Saturday Night Fever ride, LOL.

Regarding your OP, I simply disagreed with your final conclusion. I don't believe any of those examples can be attributed to Millennial interest. Well, OK, I have no idea what Grumpy Cat is, so maybe. Any relation to Itchy and Scratchy? The others are not Millennial things. Duck Dynasty is a Baby Boomer and older, right of center and religious crowd. Kim Kardashian is for teenagers and Bieber? Is he still that popular with pre-pubescent teenybopper girls?

But I still don't see any personal data that Millennials are going to let us down. The media is another story as they have already let us down, big time.
