Therefore, if we want stronger economic growth, we do things that will lessen or limit income inequality. Things like raising taxes on the rich, raising taxes on corporations, raising the minimum wage, and making it easier for workers to join or form a union.

Henry Ford was brilliant! He devised a product and a formula where all his workers both wanted and could afford the product he was manufacturing.
Decimating the middle class by outsourcing all the jobs, then expecting the same down-sized, disenfranchised middle class to carry the nations tax burden is the most stupidly short sighted formula ever. But this is what happens when decisions like "Citizens United" allow the plutocracy to OWN any and all who govern.

simply learn a skill. I was once an "unskilled" worker and I slaved at menial jobs UNTIL i developed some skills. Of course I did this when most of us did, as a teenager.
Why should an unskilled worker of any age expect to be paid on a par with someone who brings a skill to the table? If this ever became the case, why would anyone ever want to better themselves?

Henry Ford did not raise wages based on some deep understanding of this theory of consumerism. He did it in order to become more competitive. He was experiencing a high turnover rate, requiring the hiring of high numbers of new replacement employees resulting in higher training costs and reduced quality. By paying a higher wage he was able to retain workers thus reducing those negatives.
Now, this bit of fact actually goes directly against the idea of raising the minimum wage. In order for this to work for Ford he had to pay a wage that was not just higher but higher than competing employers in the area.
You could fill a newspaper daily with stories about government wastes money. It astounds me people still think we should give DC yet more money. Right, they have been such prudent stewards with our money. That's why we have no deficits or debt.
The top one percent pays about 40 percent of all federal income tax. Say someone saves $10000 in taxes. Does he put it under the bed? It is likely he will invest it, grow a business or buy things. Maybe he takes a vacation here in Florida. Do the people who work in hotels, restaurants and the tourist industry benefit from his spending? That creates jobs more efficiently than DC bureaucrats.
The economy is a like a pie. Instead of making a slice smaller and giving it to someone else, grow the pie.

Why should a 'wage slave' who needs financing just to buy new tires for his car so he can drive to work be saddled with more tax burden? Especially when the top 1% is hiding their excess Millions in off-shore banks and foreign businesses so as to avoid taxes.
The 1% hide/shelter their obscene excess while the common man works himself to an early death paying on interest for bank loans just so he and family can merely survive on the commonly accepted "basics" of contemporary American life.
This is a very unfair, unethical and morally 'sick' economy.
Let's import millions of unskilled, uneducated poor people. Let's let them take jobs in construction, maunfacturing, and services and put the US citizens they supplant on foodstamps, welfare, and 99 weeks of unemployment.
Let's fill our schools with them and dumb down the education standards so even they get a medal. Let's make sure they get a ticket to the universities so we're "diverse".
