I'm not saying fuck'em let them die but it seems like they could be cared for somewhere else. To listen to the doctors on TV I get sense of their excitement to experiment with their new toys . That's fine but how often are we told all is well then all hell breaks loose. This dude was loaded onto an plane , transfers to an ambulance and then walks into Emory . The plane could have crashed landed at Dobbins , the ambulance could have crashed on 75 , the dude could have tripped walking across the grass and ripped his suit blah blah blah a million things blah 800 mil for a website that still doesn't work right blah blah some idiot nurse forgets to fasten the Velcro flap blah blah

Murphy's law

Old boy on the news saying it isn't a big deal . Really then why the panic ?

Could it be Franklin Graham and all that $ trumps safety at the highest levels of National security

.......If you were visiting another country and caught a flesh eating disease would YOU expect to be brought home or would you rather be left to die. I have no problem with these two individuals being brought home for treatment. The hospital will take all necessary precautions to prevent the virus from spreading. Since there is no known cure for Ebola, the Doctors will probably try to boost their natural immune systems to fight off the disease.

because I want to have extra cash to give strippers and buy fine smokes , scotch and wine.
I'm not commie peace corps or volunteer for SIM but we operate in the places.

Now ask yourself since you are so close to it if you're okay with the possibility of one of the most deadly viruses known where to escape Emory. Yes CDC has all that inventory but is a live person who has already and will come into contact with a load healthcare workers .

That ambulance says Grady on it , the most used emergency vehicles in that city . Did the dude responsible for scrubbing it down do it right or did he blow off some of it because he was text

"Executive Orders" by Tom Clancy. That is if you REALLY want to get riled up.

The main plot is the newly formed country of The United Islamic Republic, formed from Iran and the failed state of Iraq, launch a massive Ebola attack on the U.S. while they simultaneously invade Saudi Arabia.

It's a good read and sure to get your blood boiling You might want to read the prequel, "Debt of Honor", first.

And I don't care much  for fiction . Like Robert E Lee said " it robs the mind of reality "

We were talking about accidental exposure risks not acts of terrorism, war or crime. Given the relatively low communicability in any of the possible scenarios we've outlined, I think your risk of dying would be still be greater due to influenza or firearms than Ebola.

Elevating the dangers of Ebola, to me, is similar to gun opponents elevating the risks of scary black rifles.

Perhaps you can explain why he wasn't taken to one of the other countries that you claimed have far better healthcare than the U.S. Given the severity, money available and the U.S. government power involved, he could have taken many places closer to Africa that supposedly have far far better health care.

Hmmm?

Tuberculosis and influenza (as just 2 examples) kill far more people than Ebola. Ebola has a very low survival rate, but then so did HIV a few years ago. Ebola's end stage is quick and gruesome. HIV is slow and gruesome and only slightly less communicable than Ebola. Influenza and tuberculosis are usually far less life threatening, but far far more communicable.

Any of your scenarios could have been easily controlled.

Risks that they won't do their jobs for any one of several possible reasons. But they will always find someone else to blame when it's over.

in ballet attire and angle wings walking into the lady GaGa concert .

Money doesn't call the shots haha Who's naive ?

Now you're worried that we aren't any more capable than a 3rd world African nation when it comes to preventing the spread of disease.

With a healthcare system as good as it is Americans have absolutely nothing to fear.
