I was at a ceremony about 25 years ago that honored several still living at the time Raider Marines . I don't recall any calling themselves Force Reconnaissance Marines. In part maybe because they were bad ass MF'ers from the " old corps ".

I said UDT service men became seals in 83 when UDT was decommissioned, some extra training might have been involved but the seals consider UDT their start. Do former frog men all claim to be seals I doubt it but if they are memorialized in the Seal museum and the seals claim they were their start it s easy to argue they were seals. Seal team one when first formed in 61 was all UDT given special training in guerrilla warfare.
