Politics and Religion

meanwhile in Rhode Island....

Which if passed is pretty obviously a 1st Amendment violation.  Also sites outside the US are not subject to US law.

Some politicians just don't get it. We have constitutional protections against just this kind of assault on liberty. The idea that they should be able to go on a fishing expedition without a warrant or subpoena shows their contempt for the constitution and principals this country was founded upon.

Exactly... proposed/passed/signed laws like this always remind me of that Ben Franklin quote.  "Those who surrender freedom for security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one.”

... it's not your internet. Granted I didn't read the article.

What property of yours are they searching.

Do you own your emails, or are your emails the property of  the email service?

This part of the bill would easily get tossed out on appeal even if it gets to SCOTUS.

"Requires ad websites to share records with the attorneys’ general without a warrant or subpoena."

I don't believe one can regulate what forms of payment an entire industry can accept or not accept. You either ban certain payments across all industries or not at all. This part of the bill would also get tossed out on appeal.

Prohibits payment with pre-paid cards, money orders, cash, or bitcoin.

You can't compel foreign nations to follow US law just like the US is under no obligation to follow foreign law. Most if not all websites are hosted overseas and this law would only make all "sex businesses" to move their websites, hosting, registration and all overseas. It is not expensive and technology has made it fairly easy to relocate data. You might be able to stop them from accepting prepaid cards but not mail-in payments, bitcoin or even Western Union.

You are only making the problem worse and not solving the issue with such a law. Now all the data and information you need to combat trafficking is located overseas in countries and with businesses that won't cooperate.

The requires Government ID part of the bill and telephone number is also brainless. Apparently she has never of fake identification cards. I can get an almost identical one on the street for a $100 bucks with a fake photo and tag it to an empty, foreclosed house halfway across the country. What are they going to do about it? When it comes time for a real crime to be solved, it only sends LE on a wild goose chase looking for "nobody" thereby endangering lives, wasting valuable time and taxpayer money.

Now as far as telephone numbers go. Apparently she and other members of congress have never heard of cellphones and prepaid cellphones.

Then again I have never really expected any politician to have a brain but Feinstein is probably in the Top 5% of the non smart category.

It is time to challenge the constitutionality of the premise that P4P for these activities can be blanket banned.  Canada did so. The blanket ban on "prostitution" strikes me as about the same as a ban on gay marriage, sex outside of marriage, oral sex, contraceptives for married people, interracial marriage and all the other strange legal legacies of another time.
The interests of minors, trafficked undocumenteds and getting violent gangs and criminal enterprises out of this could be greatly advanced by removing the premise of this silly church lady law.

P4P and gay marriage have nothing in common.

Sex outside of marriage was illegal and/or banded? Total BS where do you come up with this diddly squat.

When laws are not crystal clear when passed. It allows judges to  determine the orginal intent of the law. That's dangerous IMHO.

and she always attempts to do so by making EVERYTHING a terrorist act. The woman is a Nazi in Democrat clothing.

whoops, autocorrect messed up my subject header.

Feinstein is a real piece of work. She's just fine with NSA spying on the American People, but if the CIA spies on her, then she throws a chit fit. Never mind having any actual principles like supporting the 4th amendment to the US Constitution.

Feinstein also likes to piss on the 2nd Amendment as often as possible, and throw a hissy fit when people point it out.

This is no different. This bill is a blatant violation of the 1st amendment, but who cares. So long as this punt gets her way.

SHE has a "Concealed Carry Permit" and has so for over 2 decades; but she wants to take everybody
else's gun away.
