It does not matter HOW an individual amasses his or her personal fortune; only that they HAVE a "fortune" matters.

Legality, honesty, ethics, environmental concerns, safety and well being of others be damned!! As long as you've fed and keep feeding the bank's "debt based economy" and have amassed a personal 'stash' (at least on paper) you're a productive and successful member of society. Basic humanity has been replaced by ego-centrism and unabashed avarice.

Reports say that the Highway Trust Fund will run out of money in August. Fuel taxes are not keeping up with the "need".

How about this: Open up federal lands to drilling and fracking, and dedicate the lease revenues to the Highway Trust Fund?

The liberals in CA and NY get their roads and bridges rebuilt by soaking the oil companies for the lease payments. I think that is a win-win.

Fracking is no more disrupting than any other part of a drilling operation to the people that live in the neighborhood, and considering the fact that many land owners get downright rich off of the oil/gas on their land, I am almost always welcomed with open arms.

I bet you would be more than happy to let someone mess up your backyard a bit if it meant financial security for the rest of your life., huh, thought so. lol

Then I'd move to Beverly Hills.....swimming pools, porn stars.

Does Jamie Dimon fit your profile? I mean, he is a banker! He has throat cancer. Not a smoker or drinker, which is usually the prime cause of throat cancer. Possibly has the cancer caused by HPV. And how do you get HPV? You'd think eating really expensive pussy would eliminate the possibility of contracting HPV. Even rich guys drinking Opus One get an hangover just like those drinking two buck Chuck.

It's karma, right? Feel better!

not to eat the pussy.

Oh wait they did -

Every creature that moves along the ground is to be regarded as unclean; it is not to be eaten.

You are not to eat any creature that moves along the ground, whether it moves on its belly or walks on all fours or on many feet; it is unclean.

Do not defile yourselves by any of these creatures. Do not make yourselves unclean by means of them or be made unclean by them.

I am the Lord your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. Do not make yourselves unclean by any creature that moves along the ground.

but sooner or later you'll dance with the Reaper"

I'm not passing judgment (that's far above my pay grade). I'm just stating from observation.
Buffalo hunters in the old west seeking their fortune depleted the Bison population very near extinction. American manufacturers seeking higher profits have outsourced so many jobs to third world countries there are few left in America that can afford the goods "manufactured". America's need for oil makes a select few VERY wealthy while fouling the earth, skies and water anywhere near the processes. None of these people were/are innately evil; but the human weakness for avarice often blinds us from the consequences and misfortune brought on others.
We have a soon to burst college loan ‘bubble’ driving tuition costs ever higher with new and questionable universities opening every day feeding on this easy, government backed money bubble. Who is the more evil, the salesman/recruiter trying to enroll a 60 year old who will likely never come close to paying off the loan, or the 60 year old for accepting the likely UN-payable debt?

the infrastructure to capture and ship all of the gas brought to the surface, as is true in many northwestern  areas.  As a result, the drillers have to burn off the excess natural gas.   Air quality is degraded and the flares are an eyesore.

North Dakota supposedly burns 30% of its output.  What a waste. Then there is the problem of water usage. Fracking requires a huge amount of water. And nearly 50% of fracking waste water is not recycled, according to some experts. In states like Texas and California, which are under drought conditions, the need for water far outpaces the need for natural gas. Yet in some areas in Texas nearly one third of the local aquifer’s recharge is pumped out for fracking.

Until local regulators wake up and address these problems, we should be trying to limit fracking, not expand it
