I am an older gentleman, and a widow, and seems like this is the only method for getting dinner and evening company.  However, very concerned about getting busted as I am a profesional and my career would be ruined. I have heard out call is safer, but what other tips can you give me, I have heard that there are certain questions to ask. is it true that if you ask them if they are a cop they have to answer correctly.

Sorry if this is a stupid question

Not a stupid question at all.

I'm sorry to tell you this, and everybody correct me if I'm wrong, the police only have to identify themselves as such when exercising official authority (performing an arrest, searching with a warrant, breaking down doors with exigent circumstances, etc).  The rest of the time they are free to listen to you incriminate yourself.

By my estimation, the LE threat is overstated, and varies by market.  I've been in the hobby for nearly 20 years, and never have had an encounter with LE.  I may have been lucky, but I've also been careful.  TER is a great place to find safe, reliable companionship.

Relatively speaking, outcall is safer than incall.  Most LE stings are incall, where they can monitor and record everything.  This doesn't mean that outcall stings don't occur.

You say you've "been careful".  As a "street-ignorant" person, I'd love to have that spelled out as much as possible.  I don't mind being told something obvious or something I already know.  Please pretend I'm without common sense or any other type of knowledge and explain in as much detail as possible.
Thank you very much for your time, energy, and forbearance.

Unfortunately in my area police stings have been on the rise since last fall. Being careful amounts to alot of things, but I think there is one huge factor you should always have on your mind if leary you have walked into a sting. The objective of the officer will be to get you to  establish that you are offering her money in exchange for sexual favors. Never forget that, that is when a law is broken, and out come the cuffs. A friend of mine was able to get out of a CL sting last fall by insisting over and over that he was offering her money for her time and companionship and in hopes she would go to dinner with him. Two unifomed officers finally came in the room and took him out behind the hotel where their patrol cars were, questioned him some more, but he stuck to his story and they let him go after about 15 min. when the next guy came down already in cuffs.

No "street" knowlge required, just simple common sense.

The one and only tip - DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

If a lady has 2 or more pages of reviews, and has reviews from guys who have submited 10 or more reviews, you are likely safe.

If I were to see a review of a lady who has only one review, written by a guy who has only written one review, I would probably want to avoid her.

LE is very aware of TER and does use the net for stings.  So you want to make sure you are seeing who you is who you think she is.

The women there are drop dead gorgeous and there is no risk of getting arrested for wanting to have a good time. One day our country's national, state and local leaders will realize that what happens in private between two adults that are being discreet is no one's business.

Agree with Jazz... in beaucoup years of hobbying (I started out in the early 70's while in the service) I have never had any encounters with LE.  Maybe God protects babies, drunks and hobbyists equally.
Just be careful, use common sense and enjoy the game.  Most of all, listen to those hairs on the back of your neck, they were put there for a reason.

When in doubt, punt.  Translated, get the hell out of there if you suspect trouble.

Always use TER to search for providers who have several excellent reviews, etc.

For example, a hobbiest can ascertain from my reviews that I've been here for a 20 months, that I have 40+ reviews, that I'm an Independent Provider, that the reviewers often mention my lovely incall location, etc.

If I were a man I would avoid CL and agencies and I'd do research here on TER.

Good Luck!!!

Hmmm...along with the great advice already given. It never hurts to bring a gift for the lady. Like some flowers or chocolate or whatever. On one hand the lady will love it and treat you better, and on the other hand, you can say that you're there to ask the girl out on a date.

Just a suggestion. Maybe I'm wrong =)

Entrapment only occurs when the defendant would have never committed the crime if it wasn't for the police. In other words, if the LE induces you to commit the illegal act (such as hiring a person for sex or ofering sex for hire), you are innocent. But again you must prove it in court and this doesn't mean the cop cannot arrest you and still give you a bad time. While cops usually have very low IQs, those who plan the sting know entrapment laws well and are likely to plan for it. Most sting ops have the backing of a court order, so asking if they're cops will not work, because the court has already aproved for LE to "hide". Even if no court order is issued, a cop can choose to lie and claim probable cause in court. Best is to never ever incriminate yourself, never ever discuss sex, instead talk about company, companionship, massage, therapy... you may even say "I'm not here to have sex" if you suspect something. Be suspicious of any provider asking repeatedly "what do you wanna do" or of when a client asking "so what are we going to do" or "what is included" etc.  Remember, for the crime to occur money must be exchanged or be offered for "sex" be suspucious when "money" and "sex" are on the conversation.
By the way most courts do not like sting operation cases, because generally cops cross the line and actually induce the crimes, therefore constituing entrapment (incriminating themselves), people get arrested, but then dismissed in court. Again judges are people with an education and cops are individuals who accept a job with a high risk of getting themselves killed for an average salary... worse case scenario, I'd rather get arrested by a moron and then defend myself before a judge. By the way if you ever get arrested don't use a public defendant. Instead spend a few bucks and hire a real attorney,  one thats not hired by the same gov't who is trying to convict you. Good luck.
