My draft notice did arrive.  Nearly two years in a godforsaken country called Vietnam, I returned with much of my innocence gone.  The song " No where to, no where to hide" still haunts me. My grandkids ask me sometimes what I am looking at...no way to explain a "1000 yard stare."

I was on the way to a date and a song came on the radio at just the right time.  Next time I'll just have to pull it up on YouTube to stimulate the moment!

It dated me, but hey, we're past 60!

"Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Looking for adventure
In whatever comes our way
Yeah, darlin'
Gonna make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space

I remember it like it was yesterday....window down....AM radio cranked....Born To Be Wild!

......waiting for my draft notice to arrive
