Could be mild and pleasant, almost like summer. But everyone remembers 1991, and it will happen again. That was on the 31st, though, so it was basically November.

Hello all! I just was checking to see how the weather was at that time. If any locals or people that have traveled there at that time have some info I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance for the help.

Early October can still be nice and summer like.  Towards the end of October we've been under feet of snow in a blizzard (or also could be warm and nice).  Then again I'm sure you hope to see snow right? It's October in Minnesota..  So between 75 deg. F and freezing?.   Certainly going to get colder averages on through January.   Maybe I should just say it's fall like?  You'd certainly like a jacket and if you're used to Miami weather then this will be freezing cold..  (but not as cold as it will be very soon)...

Hi!! I'd be okay if I didn't see snow. I guess as long as I wouldn't get stranded at airport or cancelled flights (the snow stories) I'm okay if it was cold. I would certainly not be out and out doing tourist things. Thanks for the reply....appreciate it!

FYI, you will not get stuck or stranded.  We are so prepared for winter here we never close up shop.  If we did, we'd be down until April.  Dusting of snow stops Atlanta and Dallas..  Here 2 feet of snow and we just put things into four-wheel drive and go..  Thunderstorms tend to affect air travel more than snow.  No T-storms in the winter.  And after a super easy winter last year I "knock on wood".

Oh goodness....your "beware" had me thinking you had something awful to say...lol. It seems that with the info I have been getting that early October would be best. I certainly wouldn't be expecting summer as it has been so darn hot here in Fort Lauderdale so anything cooler and not so much humidity could be refreshing.

I have been known to keep it at least 98 between the sheets!

Honestly, fall weather. Long sleeves, but not shoveling.

We are Chicago but colder in January/February. That's MN

No shoveling is good....lol. I could handle long sleeve, jacket weather though. I will say bless the ladies that live there year round....they are troopers..although I am sure they are used to it.

...yellows. October temps are usually moderate to cool so bring a light and a medium jacket. Don't worry about snow. It's unlikely but possible but Winter won't kick in until November. It's a nice time to see the lush foliage before all the leaves drop and the annuals die off.

I am sure its beautiful there when the leaves are changing. If "white things" did fall from the sky I just wouldn't want it to be to the point that it would keep in stuck in MN. LOL!!!

Hi Ally

The weather would be great if you were here.

I would enjoy playing with you again!

Oh goodness!!! Hey there stranger....I know....I know...FINALLY! LOL! Trying to see how the weather is in your neck of the woods. Thanks for the reply....I hope you are doing well!!

Well Ally, the weather in Bloomington is brutal in October.  It is usually -30 to -40 below zero with howling blizzards bringing road transportation to a standstill.  One needs sled dogs to get around.  In addition, there are wolf packs and polar bears out stalking the streets looking for their next tasty human dinner.  So many visiting tourists vanish that way, but it does keep the native Minnesotans safe from being devoured.

But if you were to choose to visit Southern Tropical Minnesota, as in Rochester Minnesota, the weather is totally different.  Down here we have palm trees lining the boulevards that sway in a warm tropical breeze 365 days a year.  Our Hotels that line the many golden beaches down here are all top class and a visitors dream. Rochester is the destination of choice far above Hawaii, Las Vegas, Tahiti, and ….....

OK, I admit I am stretching the truth a tad.  In my admittedly shameless quest to see visiting providers choose this ‘Provider Desert’ of Rochester in Southeast Minnesota, I may have overly exaggerated.  LOL.

Truthfully Ally, what the others described on this thread is fact about Bloomington and the Twin Cities area.  October is usually nice with zero humidity and great warm to cool weather.  Come on up and get out of the heat!!!  We welcome you

OMG...you sir are a hoot!!! I will admit I was hoping to see sled dogs, wolf packs and polar bears....WAIT what about penguins? So, do people live in igloos there? LOL! I needed a morning laugh and you certainly helped with that.

On a different note....I would LOVE to take a little break from humidity (which we currently have). People here in South Florida look forward to end of October when the humidity isn't so bad and the weather isn't in the 90's. I love your humor and appreciate the info. :

As a matter of fact Ally, igloos are the homes of choice out in the Twin Cities western burbs of Eden Prairie and Edina.  Their real estate taxes are so high that this is all they can afford to live in.  They just have to keep a lot of pots and pans handy in the summer when the ceiling drips.

And penguins are predominantly situated in our state capitol building in St Paul.  They waddle and strut around in circles squawking and making all sorts of senseless noise and never seem to get anywhere or accomplish anything.  Sigh....such is life in Minnesota.  Hee-Hee

We have very warm hands in MN.

Come on up!  Usually by then mosquitoes are gone. :) You will like the fall weather.  Have to commend you for a reply to every message you get back regarding your question.

Hello. It seems like the fall weather would be nice for a change. As far as replying to the individual posts....well you all are kind enough to take a moment and reply so why not reply to you personally and not as a group. :)

Historically, it seems that Minnesota weather varies. It could be cold and nippy or we may have a surprisingly warm day.
If you're traveling here, options and layers will be your best friend.

Hi!! It's great to get some input from a fellow lady. I'm also thinking doing layers would indeed be a good idea. I will be sure to be prepared for whatever the weather would/could be. Thank you for the reply!

Not too hot and not too cold.  I'd say it's best to come in the early part of the month.
