it makes me wonder what the students are told about what they must do when reporting a crime; particularly a violent crime, and who they must report it to. I must confess, it's been way too long for me to remember such instructions, if there were any, during my college days. My recommendation would be, to any of my kids or grandkids, call the cops, not the college.

How is it that when a college or university believes a person is guilty of rape, that it is not pursued by local law enforcement? If a crime is committed on campus, does the school have sole jurisdiction to investigate and punishes the offender? Does it depend on the crime? If so, does that just pertain to students, or anyone who commits a crime on the campus? If the college or university has sole jurisdiction, why not high schools and elementary schools? Is it a matter of private vs. public educational institutions?

I ask these question not to bring up issues about true or false allegations about rape. I'm just truly confused, after reading numerous stories about rapists on campus not be prosecuted by local law enforcement and legal system.

Can any experts help me out with this?

So it then became a student conduct issue that Brown had to deal with thru it's student code of ethics.

With a "he said/she said situation", they kinda middled it and suspended him.

My problem with the HuffPo, and many other lib organizations, is that the guy is a "rapist" merely b/c he was accused.

Now do I think most women make up rape accusations? No. But some do. If he wasn't even indicted by LE, I think it's highly irresponsible to continue to use that label against him.
