I hate to provide a chance for people to change the subject, but I just do not believe in some of the things the "envionrmentalist" movement stands for and I think it has been taken over by people who are just mistaken out of good feelings.That said, Why can't people accept that I am in honest and good faith disagreement. It cannot be that I have doubts about the accuracy of some computer projections. No. I have to be described as someone who "hates the earth." I am de facto a "fucking pollution lover." When someone is a "fucking pollution lover," why even bother to talk to him. The GOP doesn't hate clean air. We have to breath it also. Our children drink the water, as to I. Is it possible that we just question whether all the steps demanded are necessary or even productive. Just one example, Canadian oil will be drilled and used no matter what happens to the pipeline. All that does is change how it gets to market. It will not affect the air one way or another, since it will still be used. But can we be given the benefit of the doubt that we have a good faith support of the project or do we just hate the earth, being a bunch of fucking polution lovers?

I've found that when people can't even frame the arguments of people they don't like in accurate and reasonable ways, they're more like team sports fans than objective participants in debate.
Characterizing Conservatives the way you did only makes sense to people who already are wearing your jersey and rooting for your team. People in the middle and on the other side know that the arguments they've heard against runaway environmentalism are substantive and sound.
Take, for example, the EPA's major overreach of its charge to keep clean "navigable waters" whereby they've used the government's incredible power to go after homeowners, small farmers and ranchers who have puddles on their land.
