(Busted by the SO is another matter however.)

In my case, I've been doing this for over 40 years and have seen over 200 gals in well over 1,000 dates in hotels, their place, my place, etc. and haven't seen any sign of LE.

But that does not mean we can ever be lackadaisical about security.  Gals sometimes see guys at their apartments for a variety of reasons, and certainly saving money is one of them.  Gals have to screen very carefully if they do this as having to have to move is no fun.  Seeing someone at your place also opens the person to exposure to a stalker, which is another security matter to consider.

As for whether LE can just knock on the door and barge in, I think they need a warrant, but sometimes LE will station someone just outside her door and buttonhole clients as they are leaving hoping to get one to crack.  Often they do because they don't know their rights and get told a line of BS that if they just cooperate, they'll be fine.  (They get busted anyways.)

So, continue to see well reviewed providers and give the gals the information they want to screen you.  If you don't want to give out your personal information, that is your right, but remember:  There is one class of provider who doesn't care about screening:  The ones working for LE!

Whew. That sounds encouraging. So, maybe it's all not what it's been presented as. Didn't think that things could be that dark as there wouldn't be anybody left in the business

I am just wondering if escorting, especially from one's own apartment/House, is as precarious as it is made out to be. There are literally hundreds of thousands and possibly in the millions of escorts in the US. Prostitution is against the law everywhere in the US outside of a small area of Nevada. Outside of the street trade it does not seem as though many people are getting hassled or arrested by LE. How many people on these discussion boards have ever been hassled or arrested for meeting with an escort in her apartment or house? In fact, how many have been hassled or arrested for meeting an escort in her hotel room? Or, for that matter, in your home or hotel room? We read about these busts that are made by police. But, is it really significant within the wide scope of escorting?

Does anyone know the law well enough? Can LE just knock on an apartment or house door, walk in, and arrest someone? I thought you had to have a warrant to do that. I can see if a crime is being committed. But, if there is no actual crime being committed?

There may even be some attorneys or LE among the TER group that can offer expertise on this subject. Hopefully.

IF you are ever stopped coming out or going into a providers place of business, STFU!!!!  The phrase you need to memorize is I DO NOT WISH TO SPEAK WITH YOU.  AM I FREE TO GO.  If Arrested.  I'D LIKE AN ATTORNEY.

Anything you say beyond this you are asking for trouble.

Always remember the Miranda warning...  ANYTHING YOU SAY CAN AND MAY BE USED AGAINST YOU!

In conclusion.... STFU!!!

Conceivably, working out of your home can add the charge of "brothel/house of prostitution" which, depending on the jurisdiction can carry additional and heavier penalties.

Perhaps the bigger danger is 'civil forfeiture': "'Probable cause' that your possessions may in some way be connected to perceived criminal activity is sufficient for seizure in most cases. In these cases, the burden of proof of innocence rests with the civilian." Yes, you read that right - LE can take your shit without you being charged or convicted, merely on the basis of probable cause.

on striking down civil forfiture in the absence of a conviction.
